Market Friday: Lovely wares in a great coffee shop

in Market Friday2 years ago

I love the fact that so many coffee houses support local artisans by displaying and selling their wares. This particular collection was on display at a local Dunn Brothers coffee shop. It’s a rather small chain but people around here are passionate about it.

Before I forget, did you know #Marketfriday is hosted by @dswigle — one of the most delightful Hive members ever? Be sure to visit her blog. She writes the best Market Friday posts!

Okay back to Dunn Brothers. I ended up there on this particular day because we had a power outage and I had to go get an internet connection to keep working. And I was so charmed by the displayed work of an artist as I waited for my sandwich.

In case it’s not obvious, that is a flag-themed trivet made out of wine corks. Isn’t that clever?

She puts together all kinds of crafty, clever, decorative and useful things from ordinary objects and items that might otherwise end up in the landfill

I was really impressed. In fact later it occurred to me that I spent my time admiring everything, and should have purchased something to support her work!

Well good news, I did get her information so you can shop for her wares too!

Seriously, she is talented — creating everything from jewelry to wall decor. It really made me wish that i was more crafty.

I love, love, love this type of shop. I could literally spend hours in them checking out all the cool, crafted art. Like you, it always makes me wish I was more crafty.

Thank you for stopping by my first post for Market Friday and for the follow. I'm following you back, so it will be fun going round in circles with you, I'm sure. 😂

Market Friday is such a fun adventure. It has been a wonderful focus for the end of my week for quite some time. I don't manage it every week, but as often as possible. What I love about it is how it reminds me to look and really see the wares in stores and markets, and to truly appreciate them. Thank you for stopping by, @juliamulcahy, and great to connect with you.

It was my pleasure. Connection is why I've returned to Hive, as I spent a while in a steemier zone a while back (3 years ago). I'm looking forward to joining in with Market Friday more as I've had lots of fun with it this week. 😀

Beautiful, and so clever.

Thank you!

That’s quirky and lovely. It’s fluffy all round, in a biscuit type of way. Love the display, your pics and the artist. 😊❤️🤔

Thank you, @itsostylish! I am so impressed with people who make new use of old things!

Yes… love to find these kind of places that do support local artists. They so need it. And it also brightens up the place.
What a fun creations that can be found here. And the art with the corks, such great ideas.
Thanks for sharing your post @jayna 😁 happy Sunday!
