Bangon Cebu means,"Get Up Cebu!". One way of motivating each cebuano hearts in fighting back from the devastation of the super typhoon Odette".

What's up hivers! It's me again for another #MarketFriday post by @dswigle and this time around let's go food tripping!✨

"Sugbo" means Cebu, a deep cebuano term of our city's name and "Mercado" means market in english. Cebu's Market if we will to translate in complete English, is one of the famous food park at Cebu specifically located at I.T Park, Lahug.

This food park has just arisen from being destroyed by the typhoon almost 2 months ago. It didn't escape from the wrath of Odette. But to our surprise, we did not expect the fast recovery. Just few weeks ago, Sugbo Mercado have re-opened. New, fresh and still full of filipino foods, even different cuisine like Japanese, Italian and Korean foods are there to enjoy by everyone.

Different people is welcome to eat by or pass by for snacks in this food park. You can either have your dinner here or just take out some food and bring it to your work place. Majority of the customers here are workers from corporate, mostly call center agents because this place is surrounded by lots of callcenter companies. Some were from different place wanted to find out and explore the foods the park has to offer.

Since it is very famous in social media, the Sugbo Mercado is also perfect for photos, an instagrammable one. Most specially during evening, when these bulbs highlightened these different food stalls and oh, they also have drinks ofcourse. Fruit drinks and alcoholic flavored beer is now available.

We came here after a quick coffee talk with my friends @explorewithsasha @prettyunicorn and @queenmieko22 at the office since its Friday, our last day before rest day, we got the chance to revisit the food park. Each of us bought foods for takeout. Mine I had Chicksilog (Chicken and egg) for 149.00 pesos including soup and rice. The serving is so worth it and delicious. I was full already but I still have some left.😄 Too bad I was not able to take a photo of it. Maybe next time once I visit the food stall again because I got really full and satisfied of the food. 🥰❤️

Sugbo Mercado is open from 4PM to 10PM PH time, Wednesday to Sunday. IT Park Lahug is just one of its branches. There are some located near Ayala Mall, Ayala Business Park and SM Seaside Cebu. And I'm proud to say that all of these branches have finally re-opened just recently this month of January.

See how resilient Cebuanos are? We fight back and surely will bounce back from what was lost as long as we can. Though all the damages can't be retrieve, what matters the most is we stood up and moved forward.

Til my next marketventures! ✨🌸

Saw pics of the place after the typhoon and it looks sad. Good to know they were able to re-open. Love the food choices here. It's like a food market from all around the world.

So true. If I'm only that rich, I would love to buy 1 from each food stall there Lol. Its not just enjoying their foods but also helping small businesses and local owners promote their food business. Bdw, are you from Cebu? You should pay a visit soon. 😁
