Food and artworks at Hoka Brew.
We have been going to Hoka Brew for many times now but we haven't tried any of their buffet specials. It was only this time that we decided to try their breakfast buffet. My partner saw it published in their page. The price is affordable. The photos on their page show what are included in their buffet. Breakfast buffet starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 10:00 a.m.
We had a scheduled power interruption that day which lasted the whole day so we decided to go for a walk and then head to Hoka for breakfast.
What I like about this place is the view and the ambiance. It's a dining experience going back to.
Hoka Brew is located at the second floor of The Podium Boutique Hotel. We have checked in this hotel a couple of times before and it was nice but both times we were not lucky to have a room with a view.
When we got to the restaurant, you have to pay right away if you are a walk in and that's what we did. They accept cash, cards, the local payment service that is popular here which is Gcash and other forms of payment.
The place is almost full with just a few tables left. Diners come and go but mostly from what I have observed, they are hotel guests. It is the summer month here and vacation time for most. Plus restrictions are now eased so people can now easily come and go to the city.
Once we got a table, we then headed to where the food is.
There are two sets of rice, one fried and the other plain steamed rice. Rice is a staple food here but I didn't eat rice that time.
Here are the rest of the food.
I didn't eat bread, cereal or the salad/tapioca. I did eat a lot of honeydew and papaya though. Those are refreshing! The first batch of papaya is sweeter than the second one. I think the honeydew was ignored by most as it was soaked in their own juice. There was also one kind of soup but I didn't try that too. According to my partner who tried it, it was corn soup.
I ate a lot of the sausage, pancit and eggs and some tocino. I was not able to take photos of those earlier for they ran out that time and refilled later on. There are also dried fish and red egg with tomatoes and onions.
Most of all, I had coffee and I lost count how many cups I have had and how many times I went back for papaya and honey dew.
The buffet costs PHP245.00 per person (USD4.75). They may have very few options but I was satisfied and fulfilled. In fact, I didn't eat the rest of the day.
One more thing that I like about The Podium is their support of the local artists. At the lobby outside the restaurant, there are exhibits. This time it is in celebration of women.
The exhibit is entitled "Babae at Kanyang Mundo," which roughly translates to The World of Women. This will run until the April 15.
Once we were rested, we then headed to another restaurant for salad and juice but that is for another blog.

I read your post and upvoted it 100% and reposted it. I apologize that it has been a week so busy that I didn't have time to finish personal messages on each post. For this, I am sorry as that is the best part of the challenge. (Honestly, reading is, you have no idea how much I learn!) Please know that this doesn't happen often and #MarketFriday enjoys having the opportunity to make a dash around the world weekly.
Thank you for participating in the challenge!
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through by their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Looks like a really nice place to visit, lovely views, great that they help local artists and of course the food! I would also have chosen papaya & honeydew, the fish options sound good too. A lovely start to the day not so😊
