MARKET FRIDAY: WARMTH IN RUSSIA - HOW MUCH DOEST IT COST?

in Market Friday3 years ago

Now it's already cold, and we all need warmth. So how much must we pay to feel comfort at home?

Now central heating in my city hasn't been turned on yet. Though it's a rather cold and windy fall here, and at night it's only +6 outside. People need warmth!
Of course, conditioners can help, but not all people have them. Moreover, electricity bills still need money.

Gas! It's a fine way out for houses where there is natural Russian gas.

We pay about 100 rub (1,5$ per month) for 1 person.
So many people turn on gas stove to get warmth. It really helps! I do the same now.

And now I'll show other alternatives to save yourself from cold.

I was in the supermarket woth household goods, and now we'll see how much warmth cost.

it's a real top of all sales, and many people buy them. It's like a fan for your house that blows warm air.
It costs only 12$.

The 2nd place goes to these warm devices that generate warmth using electricity. I have this one too.
Costs about 40-45$

Many people choose these ones especially for offices. but they are more expensive - almost 100$

Fireplace is a great and nice detail of any house, but of course, it needs much care and definite conditions.
So markets propose an alternative way - to have an electrical fireplace that can be used in any room, flat or house.
Looks fine, generate warmth and gives no problem.
Costs rather much.. - about 400-500$ so very few people in my city have them

And at last central heating.
Soon it will be turned on, and people will get warmth in their cold flats, but will they be glad? Not sure.
Last year the prices were very high, this year I think they will be even higher...

The price for a flat goes from its square * price for heating for 1 sq.m.
So for 3-room flat (72 sq.m) we pay about 40-45$ per month.
And in general utilities are about 70$ per month.
It can seem very cheap, but to understand it is NOT, we must know general prices and level of salaries in my city.
400$ is considered to be a great salary! Great not because it's super enough for life, no! Great because it's hard to find anything more profitable, and when you pay almost 20$ per utilities it doesn't look so fine..

So, guys, Russian warmth isn't very cheap for Russians, and what about you?
How much do you pay?

That's really not cheap considering the average Russian income as you stated. But then you've got to do wgat you have to do to keep warm this season, eh?

As for us here in the Middle East the weather is much more bearable already with temps ranginging between 26-34°c.The coldest we can get here in "winter" is only about 16°C and people get reallu bundled up. 😅

ooh it seems to be my heaven, I hate cold!;)
soon the central heating must be turned on.
and I need an air humidifier very much, because air will be very dry because of it

Ours is already on (central heating)
thank got it's still mostly sunny and warm outside...

Prices of central gone way to high last year, when they put the heat units measurement devices and it was like 100 euro for a month...
the years before was very good when you paid only for the square meters and I could heat the kitchen and even the other rooms with door open for just 14 euro per month :P

heat units measurement devices what is it? aaahhh the device that count the amount of heat that was used?
we have them too

yes, the same :)
