An interesting aspect of the consumption of social media is the effect this behavior has on brain development. I was just looking at a study that noted neurological plasticity developing in different parts of the brain depending on the kind social activity engaged. It's kind of startling to think that our young might actually be creating neurological pathways unique to their generation. I'm not sure what the implications of that are. A new way of socializing with a brain tailored to accommodate the change. Maybe not worse. Maybe not better. Interesting though.
