Last Monday we presented our final project of the semester for our programming class, as part of our Mechatronics engineering degree. We’re only in our first semester, so it wasn’t very complex; we made a trivia game.
The challenge was that the presentation was timed and had to be in English, which is not our native language. The activity was more of a practice for future professional presentations than a showcase of technical skills.
We spent almost four hours waiting for all teams to present, and we were the very last group to go. By the end we were already very tired, and honestly we could have done better, but we still did great: our grade was 95/100.
It was a very interesting activity, and definitely something that will be useful in the future. We hope the next presentations become easier and easier. It was a pleasure working with friends; I’m excited to keep developing my skills at the university.

El lunes pasado expusimos nuestro proyecto final del semestre en la materia de programación, como parte de nuestra ingeniería en mecatrónica. Apenas vamos en primero así que no era algo tan complejo; nosotros hicimos un juego de trivia.
El reto estuvo en que la exposición era cronometrada y tenía que ser en inglés, el cual no es nuestro idioma materno. La actividad era más una práctica para futuras exposiciones profesionales que un desglose de habilidades técnicas.
Estuvimos casi cuatro horas para que todos los equipos terminaran de exponer, y nosotros fuimos el último equipo en pasar. Finalizamos ya bastante cansados y sinceramente pudimos haberlo hecho mejor, pero nos fue bastante bien: nuestra calificación fue 95/100.
Fue una actividad muy interesante, y sin duda algo que nos será útil a futuro. Esperamos que las siguientes sean cada vez más fáciles de realizar. Fue un gusto haber trabajado con amigos; estoy emocionado por seguir desarrollando habilidades en la universidad.
