Lo primero que hago es escoger un día que sea de sol radiante, pues ella le tiene miedo al secador, creo que por el sonido, y su pelaje es muy denso, porque su raza tiene doble capa de pelo, así que aunque la seco con una toalla, igual cuesta que se seque bien, por eso la temperatura debe ser buena, para que no se enferme por la humedad o el frío.

Pongo a mano todo lo necesario para no interrumpir el procedimiento, ya que en un principio procuro relajarla lo suficiente para que al momento del baño no se estrese y no se convierta en algo traumático para ella. Yo uso un peine, tijeras, bicarbonato, jabón y cepillo dental.

Lo primero es peinarla para desatar los nudos, antes no le ocurría tanto, pero ahora como está amamantando, la saliva de las bebés hace que se pegue el pelo y se enrede, además de que ahora a ella le gusta irse mucho al patio a jugar y se llena de ramitas y suciedad. El objetivo es desenredar el pelo para que el jabón y el agua puedan penetrar bien hasta la piel y entre las hebras del pelo y así evitar que las impurezas queden enredadas en él aún después del lavarlo.

Yo siempre le dejo sus hermosas pestañas largas, pero no tanto, porque pueden ser muy pesadas para sus ojitos.

I always leave her beautiful eyelashes long, but not too long, because they can be very heavy for her eyes.

Luego viene la parte del drama

Hago una mezcla de agua con bicarbonato y se la aplico en los bigotes y barba, eso ayuda a blanquear las manchas producidas por los alimentos, siempre tengo mucho cuidado porque ella puede lamerse eso y en grandes cantidades puede hacerle daño. A pesar de darle unos alimentos que no tienen tantos colorantes, igual se mancha un poco. Y sus bigoticos son blancos, entonces se nota mucho. La dejo por unos minutos y empiezo el baño, uso un jabón neutro, ya que la piel de esta raza es delicada, son alérgicos y no se deben usar productos fuertes o con muchos químicos, porque les hace mucho daño.
Then comes the drama part

I make a mixture of water with baking soda and I apply it on her whiskers and beard, it helps to whiten the stains produced by the food, I am always very careful because she can lick it and in large quantities it can hurt her. In spite of giving her some foods that don't have so many colorants, she still stains a little bit. And her whiskers are white, so it is very noticeable. I leave her for a few minutes and start the bath, I use a neutral soap, because the skin of this breed is delicate, they are allergic and you should not use strong products or with many chemicals, because it hurts them a lot.
Aprovecho una vez que esta enjabonada, le cepillo los dientes con mucho cuidado, los perritos deben tener un adecuado aseo dental, porque se les hace sarro por los alimentos y les daña los dientes, sin contar que les pueden salir otras enfermedades como abscesos dentales.
Luego la enjuago y si es necesario, la enjabono nuevamente. Normalmente lo hago. Para que así sus patitas, orejas y bigotes queden impecables, porque son blancos y el pelo de los Schcnauzer es poroso y difícil de limpiar.
Al terminar la seco y ella se sacude el agua repetidas veces hasta sentirse más ligera. Al final queda llena de mucha energía y juega bastante, tengo que estar pendiente para que no se vaya al patio mientras esté mojada y así evitar que se ensucie nuevamente.

When I finish, I dry her and she shakes the water off repeatedly until she feels lighter. At the end she is full of energy and plays a lot, I have to keep an eye on her so that she doesn't go to the yard while she is wet and so she doesn't get dirty again.
