Hola chicos de Hive, hoy les hablaré de algo muy bonito... Amor, que complicado es hablar del amor. Cada quien tiene su percepción distinta del amor, hay quienes lo idealizan, otros lo idolatran, algunos creen fielmente en el, hay personas que piensan que sólo el amor lo encontrarán en alguien más. Yo por mi parte me di cuenta que el amor puede darse dé cualquier forma en la vida hasta los seres más nobles que hay sobre la tierra.
Y uno de esos nobles seres es África Valentina, una hermosa mestiza de beagle que por azares del destino me conseguí en el camino de mi vida.
A África la encontré en un parque de Bogotá, había un chico regalando cachorritos y yo decidí llevarme uno, espero que la suerte de los otros haya sido como la de mi África. En fin, mi novio y yo nos llevamos a esta pequeña cachorrita, que por cierto era la menos fea de toda la camada, al llegar al departamento ubicamos un lugar donde África pudiera dormir y le hicimos espacio en nuestra habitación, en medio de unas cobijas viejas.
Pasaba el tiempo y África crecía, se hacía cada día más grande, más hermosa y por supuesto más inteligente, la enseñamos a hacerse la muerta, a dar vueltas, a sentarse, a dar la pata, cada acción iba acompañada de un premio comestible que nuestra perra se deleitaba al devorar.
No ha sido fácil criar a África, como todo perro ha mordido zapatos, medias y una vez llegó hasta dañar una cámara Gopro que Tomás, mi novio, se había comprado. Ese día queríamos casi matarla, pero es que siempre nos mira con esos ojitos llenos de ternura y amor.
Tener a alguien que te reciba en casa cuando llegues es espectacular, y ver cómo se ilumina la cara de África mientras mueve la cola para todo lado cuando llegamos sólo me hace entender que el amor no mira especies, sólo mira el corazón de aquellos quienes nos llenan día a día la vida de experiencias inolvidables.
África es una experiencia inolvidable, como quisiéramos que nos dure toda la vida, pero los años perro corren rápido, mientras tanto la disfrutamos, jugamos, dormimos con ella, la paseamos y mismos mucho, a veces creemos que nosotros somos las mascotas de África de tan consentida que es.
Nosotros somos venezolanos, vivíamos en Bogotá - Colombia y allí estuvimos un tiempo con nuestro amor perruno. Tener la compañía de África durante los días de estricta cuarentena por el virus del COVID-19 fue un alivio, podíamos hacer mil cosas junto a ella y cada día era una aventura distinta aunque estuviéramos encerrados.
Al tiempo ya pasado un poco todo lo de la pandemia decidimos regresar a Venezuela, y si para nosotros fue enfrentarnos a otra realidad, para África fué igual, estaba un poco extraña, se le notaba triste, rara; es que estaba adaptandose a un nuevo entorno, y sobre todo un clima diferente. Bogotá es una ciudad muy fría y actualmente nosotros vivimos en Lechería - Anzoátegui (Venezuela) una ciudad del oriente del país, a orillas del mar Caribe, el calor y la humedad están a la orden del día, así que para África fue un poco extraño pasar de un clima frío a uno bastante caluroso, aunque cabe resaltar que el sol le encanta y que cada mañana se va al balcón a tomar su bañito de sol.
En nuestro andar con África hemos descubierto que le encanta ir a la playa, jugar y revolcarse en la arena, lo que si le da un poco de miedo es meterse al agua, sólo moja sus patitas en la orilla. Llevarla a la playa es saber que al llegar a la casa le toca un baño profundo para sacar toda la arena pegada a su cuerpo.
Y si hablamos de la inteligencia, África no se queda atrás. Ha aprendido mucho y algo que me sorprende es que sabe que la mayoría de veces que entra una llamada a mi teléfono sabe que saldré, entonces últimamente cuando mi teléfono suena África se levanta de dónde esté y con sus ojitos llenos de amor me mira e inclinando la cabeza pareciera que me dice "hey tu humana mía, ¿para donde vas? ¿Acaso no piensas llevarme?".
De África nunca hemos tenido una mala cara, una fea actitud ni un mal comportamiento, desde pequeña ha sido amable, cariñosa y como todo perrito un poco inquieta, pero es que si no fuese juguetona no seria una buena perrita. Para nosotros es parte de nuestra familia, creo que con ella estamos aprendiendo un poco a ser papás jajaja; algún día cuando tengamos nuestros hijos ya tendremos un poco de experiencia. Tener una mascota es una gran responsabilidad y un gran deber, hay quienes tienen mascotas para tenerlas abandonadas o para maltratarlas, los animales, como las personas y las plantas, necesitan amor para crecer, necesitan que les hablemos bonito, que los consintamos, que los premiemos, que les hagamos sentir que son amados, que son importantes, nada es más importante que amar y si amar a una persona es maravilloso, más aún es amar a un perrito, porque de su corazón solo saldrá la más pues expresión de amor.
Sabemos que entre tantos "guau guau" hay un "te amo humana" y yo le digo "yo también te amo mi cosa preciosa", para mí es un regalo de Dios tener a África en mi vida, me hace tan feliz, me llena de vida, me llena de color, de esperanza, de ternura, no hay nada más que me encante que ver sus ojos marrones cuando me mira al despertar, es como si me dijera buenos días, hoy será maravilloso porque nos tenemos.
Sacarla a pasear es genial, verla correr por los jardines del conjunto residencial dónde vivo es hermoso, África roba miradas, tanto niños como adultos la ven jugar y correr e inmediatamente les saca una sonrisa. A veces pienso que he sido muy afortunada al tenerla en mi vida. Definitivamente me hace feliz.
Nunca pensé en llegar a amar tanto a un perro, o a cualquier mascota, nunca había tenido una mascota, y ahora que tengo a África que es lo más hermoso de este mundo, pienso en todos los años en los que vivía sin el amor de un perro, Los perros son ángeles que vienen a alegrarnos la existencia, por eso, y no equivocadamente, son llamados el mejor amigo del hombre. Un amigo es incondicional, siempre está, si estás triste el también lo está, si te ries el reira; los perros detectan las emociones y que lindo es que se te acerque cuando uno siente que no puede más y que la vida te ha vencido. Sentir su cabeza recostarse en mis piernas en mis días tristes y sólo quedarse ahí conmigo hasta dormirnos juntas me hace decir que mi amiga África estará conmigo en las buenas y malas, en las subidas y bajadas, en la luz y en la oscuridad. Espero que África sea como esa película donde el perrito muere y reencarna en otro perrito para siempre estar con su dueña, ojalá y eso fuera cierto.
Se que cuando me toque despedirme de África será difícil, pero hay que seguir adelante, me gustaría esparcir sus cenizas desde lo alto de una montaña y que su espíritu vuele libre por el mundo llenando de amor esos corazones vacíos que aún no han sabido amar, esos corazones duros que no han dejado que entre un poco del calor del amor. Si los animales hablaran nos enseñarían tanto del amor que quedaríamos asombrados.
África para mí es una embajadora de la paz, del amor y de la alegría. Y por si no se los había dicho o no lo han entendido, amo a África con todo mi ser, la amo como me amo y quiero que sea feliz conmigo, jugando, correteando, haciendo travesuras, ladrando cuando me voy como diciéndome "acá te espero", quiero eso toda la vida. Quiero despertarme y sentirla cerca, quiero hacerle mucho cariño, ir a la playa juntas, a la montaña, al río, a dónde me lleve la vida pero todo junto a África que no hace más que sacarme sonrisas todo el día, todos los días.
Hoy se lo suertuda que soy, he encontrado el amor, con Tomás, claro; pero también ese amor diferente que te hace sentir feliz, ese amor de perros, de ese que provoca abrazar y sentir su lengua fría pasando por mi mejilla. Se es feliz con tan poco y yo soy feliz con África, una mestiza un poco loca que me inflama el corazón de amor y alegría cada vez que la veo y cada vez que me mira con sus ojos tiernos.
Espero poder hacerla tan feliz como ella me hace a mi.
El amor existe y en éste caso, para mí, tiene cuatro patas y se llama África Valentina.

Everyone has a different perception of love, there are those who idealize it, others idolize it, some believe faithfully in it, there are people who think that only love will be found in someone else. I for my part realized that love can be given in any form in life, even in the noblest beings on earth.
And one of those noble beings is Africa Valentina, a beautiful beagle mestizo that by chance of destiny I got in the way of my life.
I found Africa in a park in Bogota, there was a guy giving away puppies and I decided to take one, I hope the luck of the others was like that of my Africa. Anyway, my boyfriend and I took this little puppy, which by the way was the least ugly of the whole litter, when we arrived at the apartment we found a place where Africa could sleep and we made room for her in our room, in the middle of some old blankets.
Time went by and Africa grew, she became bigger, more beautiful and of course more intelligent, we taught her to play dead, to roll over, to sit, to paw, each action was accompanied by an edible prize that our dog was delighted to devour.
It has not been easy to raise Africa, like every dog she has chewed shoes, socks and once she even damaged a Gopro camera that Tomás, my boyfriend, had bought for himself. That day we almost wanted to kill her, but she always looks at us with those eyes full of tenderness and love.
Having someone to welcome you at home when you arrive is spectacular, and seeing how Africa's face lights up as she wags her tail all over the place when we arrive only makes me understand that love does not look at species, it only looks at the hearts of those who fill our lives day by day with unforgettable experiences.
Africa is an unforgettable experience, as we would like it to last a lifetime, but the dog years run fast, meanwhile we enjoy her, we play, we sleep with her, we walk her and we walk her a lot, sometimes we believe that we are Africa's pets because she is so spoiled.
We are Venezuelan, we lived in Bogota - Colombia and there we spent some time with our doggy love. Having Africa's company during the days of strict quarantine for the COVID-19 virus was a relief, we could do a thousand things with her and every day was a different adventure even though we were locked up.
After the pandemic we decided to return to Venezuela, and if for us it was to face another reality, for Africa it was the same, she was a little strange, she looked sad, strange; she was adapting to a new environment, and above all a different climate. Bogota is a very cold city and we currently live in Lecheria - Anzoategui (Venezuela) a city in the east of the country, on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, the heat and humidity are the order of the day, so for Africa it was a little strange to go from a cold climate to a very hot one, although it should be noted that she loves the sun and every morning she goes to the balcony to take her sun bath.
In our walk with Africa we have discovered that she loves to go to the beach, play and roll in the sand, what she is a little afraid of is getting into the water, she just wets her little legs on the shore. To take her to the beach is to know that when she gets home she has to take a deep bath to remove all the sand stuck to her body.
And if we talk about intelligence, Africa is not far behind. She has learned a lot and something that surprises me is that she knows that most of the time when a call comes to my phone she knows that I will be out, so lately when my phone rings Africa gets up from wherever she is and with her eyes full of love she looks at me and tilting her head it seems that she is telling me "hey you my human, where are you going? Are you not going to take me?
From Africa we have never had a bad face, an ugly attitude or bad behavior, since she was little she has been kind, affectionate and like all dogs a little restless, but if she wasn't playful she wouldn't be a good dog. For us she is part of our family, I think that with her we are learning a little to be parents hahaha; someday when we have our children we will have a little experience. Having a pet is a great responsibility and a great duty, there are those who have pets to have them abandoned or to mistreat them, animals, like people and plants, need love to grow, they need to be talked to nicely, to be pampered, to be rewarded, to be made to feel that they are loved, that they are important, nothing is more important than loving and if loving a person is wonderful, even more is to love a dog, because from his heart will only come out the most expression of love.
We know that among so many "wow wow" there is a "I love you human" and I tell her "I love you too my precious thing", for me it is a gift from God to have Africa in my life, it makes me so happy, it fills me with life, it fills me with color, with hope, with tenderness, there is nothing else I love more than seeing her brown eyes when she looks at me when she wakes up, it is as if she is telling me good morning, today will be wonderful because we have each other.
Taking her out for a walk is great, watching her run through the gardens of the residential complex where I live is beautiful, Africa steals glances, both children and adults see her play and run and she immediately brings a smile to their faces. Sometimes I think I have been very lucky to have her in my life. She definitely makes me happy.
I never thought I would love a dog so much, or any pet, I had never had a pet, and now that I have Africa which is the most beautiful thing in this world, I think of all the years I lived without the love of a dog, Dogs are angels that come to brighten our existence, that is why, and not wrongly, they are called man's best friend. A friend is unconditional, he is always there, if you are sad he is sad too, if you laugh he will laugh; dogs detect emotions and how nice it is to be approached when you feel you can't go on any longer and that life has defeated you. Feeling his head lay on my legs on my sad days and just stay there with me until we fall asleep together makes me say that my friend Africa will be with me in good times and bad, in the ups and downs, in the light and in the dark. I hope Africa is like that movie where the puppy dies and is reincarnated in another puppy to always be with her owner, I wish it were true.
I know that when it is my turn to say goodbye to Africa it will be difficult, but we must go on, I would like to scatter her ashes from the top of a mountain and let her spirit fly free around the world filling with love those empty hearts that have not yet known how to love, those hard hearts that have not let a little of the warmth of love enter. If animals could speak they would teach us so much about love that we would be amazed.
Africa for me is an ambassador of peace, love and joy. And in case I haven't told you or you haven't understood, I love Africa with all my being, I love her as I love myself and I want her to be happy with me, playing, running around, playing pranks, barking when I leave as if telling me "here I am waiting for you", I want that for the rest of my life. I want to wake up and feel her close, I want to love her a lot, to go to the beach together, to the mountains, to the river, wherever life takes me, but all together with Africa who does nothing but make me smile all day, every day.
Today I know how lucky I am, I have found love, with Tomas, of course; but also that different love that makes you feel happy, that love of dogs, the kind that makes you hug and feel its cold tongue running down my cheek. One is happy with so little and I am happy with Africa, a little crazy mestizo who inflames my heart with love and joy every time I see her and every time she looks at me with her tender eyes.
I hope I can make her as happy as she makes me.

I loved learning about Africa Valentina's story. The love we receive from a dog is very different, it is a selfless love. Dogs are always there for us, ready to cheer us up, play, eat or do any activity.
