The world hasn't been kind to my new pet cat :(

Hey everyone. I made this post so I could introduce you all to my new pet cat.

I named her Asmaa, after a famous Arabic/Muslim warrior who participated in wars. Much like Asmaa, my new cat is a warrior. Here is her story:

Around two weeks ago, maybe three, I was walking back home after the public bus dropped me. On the way back I heard a weak meowing sound from the big waste container I was walking right past. At first, I didn't care as I have seen cats go there many times for food, sometimes to mate, so I didn't want to intrude on their privacy lol. But there was something about this meowing that wouldn't let me keep walking unless I check out the source.

Her meowing sounded almost like crying, she sounded like she was in pain. So I looked to find this cat thrown, wrapped in a plastic bag. I asked a guy passing by to get it for me since I am only around 155 cm in height. He pulled out the cat and I was shocked to see what she looked like. I quickly took pictures and sent them to a friend who is a veterinarian. Here is how her eyes looked.

This was her left eye.

And this was her right eye.

To be honest, I honestly debated leaving her behind. My financial situation isn't the greatest at the moment. But, my heart just wouldn't let me do it. Plus, when I put her on the ground she tried to run quickly and hit her head a couple of times. She was actually blind. I couldn't just leave her. So I picked her up and took her home

This is how she looked after I bathed her.

The next day I made time to take her to my friend who is a veterinarian like a mentioned and after close examination. He said she has what translated to feline chlamydial conjunctivitis. Also, not that it wasn't obvious already he said that the cat was vaccinated. This means some jerks actually had the cat then decided to throw her once she became sick, disgusting.

My friend offered to euthanize her, but I didn't have the heart to do so. As a favor, he gave me some medicine to give her.

He also gave me a tetracaine eyedrop to numb her as I use a razor to peel off some of the goo and clean her right eye. I also administrate an injection and give her vitamin D3. My brother also offered to pay for the remainder of her treatment. The vet said that she might need surgery, so my brother and I are both working to provide the money for it.

When I first got the cat she was practically frozen for a day or two, but I slowly gained her trust. She is still practically blind, however, sometimes I get the feeling that she does see...

At least temporarily, maybe barely. But I think she is slowly regaining her sight. I will continue to take care of her and update you on her case. In the meantime, say hello to Asmaa.

Thank you for reading and sorry about the quality of some of the photos.
