[ENG] The speed with which time passes is impressive; When you see it up close it seems slow and parcimonious, but when you stop and think about the past you can see how quickly it has passed and the magnitude of the change it has generated in things. I remember Kafu's arrival at my house as if it had happened just a year ago, it was so small that it could fit in someone's hands when both palms were brought together.

[ESP] Es impresionante la velocidad con la que el tiempo transcurre; cuando lo ves de cerca parece lento y parsimonioso, pero al detenerse y pensar en el pasado puedes notar lo rápido que ha transcurrido y la magnitud del cambio que ha generado en las cosas. Recuerdo la llegada de Kafú a mi casa como si hubiera ocurrido hace un año apenas, era tan pequeño que cabía en las manos de alguien al juntar ambas palmas.

[ENG] Kafu was the first dog to win my mother's heart since I was born. It's funny that I don't remember how things were before Kafu, but I know that everything has been better with him. I remember that during our first walks, which did not reach 500 meters, Kafu fell asleep halfway through and had to return home carrying it, then the moment came when he would have infinite energy and we would walk for hours to spend it, now At eleven years old, we still walk for a couple of hours and although his energy is far from infinite, he keeps pace and enjoys the journey.

[ESP] Kafú fue el primer perro que se gana el corazón de mi mamá desde que nací. Es curioso que no recuerdo cómo eran las cosas antes de Kafú, pero sé que con él todo ha sido mejor. Recuerdo que durante nuestros primeros paseos, que no llegaban a 500 metros, Kafú se quedaba dormido a mitad de camino y tenía que regresar a casa cargándolo, luego llegó el momento en el que tendría energía infinita y paseábamos durante horas para que la gastara, ahora, con once años, aún paseamos durante un par de horas y aunque su energía está lejos de ser infinita, mantiene el paso y disfruta el recorrido.

[ENG] Thinking about Kafu puppy and Kafu of the third age, I am amused to internalize the evolution of his understanding of the environment; like knowing how to be cautious in front of cars but without being afraid of them, the way in which he reads my movements when we walk to know where to go, the recognition of lunchtime or attending to the snap of the fingers to receive an instruction. These are things that the little two-month-old Kafu did not understand the day he arrived at my house, but that with perseverance and love he learned along the way and that to this day are part of him.

[ESP] Pensando en Kafú cachorro y en el Kafú de la tercera edad, me causa gracia internalizar la evolución del entendimiento que tiene del entorno; como saber ser precavido ante los carros pero sin temerles, la manera en la que lee mis movimientos cuando paseamos para saber hacia donde ir, el reconocimiento de la hora de comer o atender al chasquido de los dedos para recibir una instrucción. Son cosas que el Kafú chiquito de dos meses no entendía el día que llegó a mi casa, pero que con constancia y amor aprendió en el camino y que hasta el día de hoy son parte de él.

[ENG] Along the way we have met people who have hit Kafu just out of fear or dogs that due to bad habits of their owners do not know how to relate and that is why they have attacked Kafu, but likewise we have run into people full of love who have been in love with him with just a glance, animals that still cautious approach him wanting to socialize. And that's the way the world is, there are all kinds of things, the important thing is how we allow that to affect us. In Kafu's case, the bad experiences were not a reason to stop being a big and loving dog, while the good ones have reinforced in him his trust towards people and other animals.

[ESP] En el camino nos hemos encontrado gente que le ha pegado a Kafú solo por miedo o perros que por malos hábitos de sus dueños no saben relacionarse y por eso han atacado a Kafú, pero así mismo nos hemos topado con personas llenas de amor que se han enamorado de él con solo un vistazo, animales que aún cautelosos se le acercan con ganas de socializar. Y así es el mundo hay todo tipo de cosas, lo importante es como permitimos que eso nos afecte. En el caso de Kafú, las malas experiencias no fueron motivo para dejar de ser un perro tan grande como amoroso, mientras que las buenas han reforzado en él la confianza hacia las personas y otros animales.

[ENG] Eleven years of a puppy that came to my family to conquer our hearts. It is the relationship of responsibility, respect and love that I have had and I am grateful for that. Thank you for celebrating Kafu with me! I love my dog!
