Do you remember my ants family?
It's still alive yeah! We have such unusual pets about 4 years already.
We started this ants kingdom some years ago when we bought just an ant's Queen (Mother) and 5-7 of her kids.
Now we have hundreds of them!:)
My son is fond of insects and their life, that's why he chose ants to investigate their life laws. And they're really very interesting and wise I must admit!
We made different experiments with them - what food they like more, what they do with another insects if they appear in their ant house, how they react on light, darkness, noise etc.
The most interersting case when we were witnesses of baby ant birth;) It was cool!
Look how they live now. We combine 2 houses in 1 for them because their number has increased greatly;)
they drink water very friendly in a circle;)
it's their future kids, they take care of them from morning till night like real mothers;)
It's a place for their garbage. Lego-garbage;) they bring there everything they don't like.

and it's their ant house decoration - a tower we made with 3d-printer for them.
They like to walk there and sometimes we put their some water or food for them.
Observing ant life for many years, now we know lots of their secrets;)
I'm quite surprised to know that we can treat ants as pets. That's cool! They require relatively little space and maintenance. They're also ideal for those interested in nature and biology.

Such habitats are very educational. The famous biologist E.O. Wilson was extremely interested and well informed about ants, particularly, as they are such a fundamental component of natural ecosystems, and simply amazing.

Well, to be honest, I don't follow negative news and try to filter them all, especially now when there are so many fakes all around because of military actions with Ukraine and the general world situation.
But, yeah, I heard about diseases of domestic animals (actually, it happens every year, nothing special), but no I amn't aware about such outrage that is described in the article. I think it's some kind of trash news and fakes because if it is truth, it wouldn't be possible to hide it. Moreover, we've relativesa in villages in different regions and noone told about viruses or officials' outrage written in the post.
But speaking about blocking of messages, it's true. Whatsapp, Telegram are really blocked now. Officials propose another local messager instead of them, but most of Russians don't like restrictions, that's why people still use telegram with the help of different services. Many people follow the general course, but there are many of those who have their own point of view.
And speaking about the president - most people support and respect him.
I very much appreciate your perspective on the article. There are very few people I can ask about such things here. I occasionally run into a Russian emigre here or there when I'm out picking mushrooms in the fall, but mostly we talk about mushrooms then, LOL.

Interesting, Ant as a pet? That's coollllll!!! And whats more amazing is is, they're all comfortable in there like they don't run away if they sense human presence. Thats just cool. I never tried petting ant but I saved a lot of ants from drowning or from getting burn. Lol
they're really cool as pets, they don't demand much attention but they're interesting for investigation;)

Может немного дилетантский вопрос, но они у вас ни разу не разбегались по дому?
ни разу) они хорошо закрыты, и им некуда убегать. бывало пару раз, что крышку сын неплотно закрывал, успевали убежать несколько штук, но им самим не в радость это) они - очень семейные товарищи, без мамы (королевы) никуда, поэтому даже убежав ищут путь назад и далеко не отходят. они выделяют спец.вещества и ими метят дорогу, по которой прошли для себя и сородичей (для человека незаметны они), поэтому они всячески потом стараются по этим путям и найти дорогу назад. умные ребятки)
а живут рядовые мураши недолго очень, долгожитель только королева (там и до 20 лет доходит), а обычные солдаты и жнецы просто постоянно меняются, и их смена незаметна.
