I've been dreaming about them for a very long time, but only the war made me reconsider my views and realise that tomorrow may not come. And then, as soon as we were freed from the Russian occupation, I went and bought myself such a wonderful company. Lucinda, Pierre and Josephine became my first downy chickens.
What I want to tell you about these birds. First of all, they are tiny and have no weight at all. The volume you see is just fluff.
Secondly, they remind me of cats. Probably because they have more fluff than feathers. They are tiny down balls.
Unlike bentam roosters, which are also tiny, but very bully, downy roosters are roosters and rashies. Of course not all. But still they are much less mobile and have less courage. But nevertheless, they are also always ready to defend their girls.
They live with me as pets and can feel completely safe, because I'm vegan. If it's too cold in winter, I take them to the house. Then in the morning I wake up to the singing of a rooster, but it doesn't bother me at all.

You have named your hen very lovingly and she looks really nice too
