The puppies' mother's name is Kira. It's a hard woollen dachshund. My friend is very serious about taxis. Her dogs attend special lessons and take part in exhibitions.
For Kira, it was the last birth. She is already seven years old. Although she's completely healthy, you were a little worried. Moreover, it seemed to us that the onset of labour was delayed. Of course we went straight to the veterinary clinic, but the vet said that mom and puppies are fine and we just have to wait. Indeed, the next day Kira gave birth to six adorable babies on her own.
Since there are still dogs in the house, a separate room was allocated for the mother and newborns. There was a special box in the room. It's such that an adult dog can easily leave it, but puppies can't. It's important, safety first. And, of course, hygiene.
Other animals, neither dogs nor cats, should not enter this room. And it's not that they can harm puppies - it won't happen, no one will hurt the babies. But mother Kira mercilessly attacks anyone who shows curiosity. And this can already be dangerous, because despite its small size, the dachshund is a serious dog. We must not forget that dachshunds are hunters, not cute couch dogs.
