RIP my friend

in Hive Pets3 years ago

Dear hive friends,
yesterday was a special day. Such sort of extraordinary that takes a while to comprehend. Indeed, we were preparing ourselves for a step that helps to end suffering. But there was still that question, is it fair to help pets get to the finish line with a little help? I don't know. What I know is that I didn't want my Monty to suffer unnecessarily. To explain, he had heart failure and water was in his lungs. Medicaments helped him for almost three years but eventually...

Discussion on the matter rose every time he got worse and finally we figured out that he will let us know when the time will come. Supposedly, we will know when he’ll stop eating. In his old age, of 14 years, he liked all sorts of food and had an epic appetite. He was nuts about our peppers and sometimes he got a treat right in the garden. Little legend even found himself perfectly ripe cherry tomatoes. Red is the best, the rest oh please. Did someone say steak? He is ready. Anyway, yesterday he didn’t want anything and behaved in a very obvious matter. Needless to say, the night was hard for all of us. Coughing as a hymn and sadness in our hearts.

Welcome MTV, this is my CRIB. Just kidding I live with my guys and sleep on the bed.

The very next day we had a walk and did our proper goodbyes. Can goodbye even be proper? Probably not if you don't want it. But in this case, we comforted ourselves and made a piece with it. However, there was that question in our head "Was this the right step? Should we wait for his time instead help him with the vet?

Just thinking

We decided to bury our boy on the property we have just bought and on top of his grave a beautiful cherry. Silence in the car and tears got us to get some music. Believe it or not, there was a tribute to the artist Nick Cave and his songs are just right for a day like this. And if there was just a hint of doubt about our decision, the next song washed it away.

The song was Bob Dylan’s Death Is Not the End! Appropriate, indeed. On the way home, we stopped for a cherry tree sapling considering cherries made him jump with joy. Then, we left the grayness of a foggy and rainy city behind and went into the rainbow. Literally, skies opened up and we got the whole rainbow with the sun shining over the Olive Mountain. In such special circumstances, we paid tribute to our champion without a rush. However, right after the ceremony, the rain caught us and we had to run for shelter. Looks like our little fella gave us a sun to say the last goodbye.

He thought us many things, including how to keep focus and stretch all the limbs in the morning to name a few. With his alert senses, he always knew what was going on and proved to us that there is more to life than what meets the eye. On his last day on Earth, there were so many coincidences that it was obvious that there are no coincidences. I haven’t even mentioned the lowered air quality, due to eruption and the full moon. What else can I say, other than death is not the end? In difficult times any help is welcome and only with help the hole humanity can have a better future. I'm grateful to be part of The Bruno Gröning Circle of Friends, where I got everything I need to see things through the language of love. Our feelings are important and when we are focused on the positive, high vibrational emotions life can be a joy. Even in difficult situations, we can see the bigger picture and go through life more peacefully.

Do I have any wisdom for you? Yes, make sure you will enjoy your time with your furry friend and sometimes take extra time just for them. One day they will be gone and you will miss all that time.

You'll stay with me.jpg

This is really not easy, and what you said about taking time for them because at one point they wont be around anymore is very true, also great song, RIP to your lovely furry friend.

Thank you

I'm sorry 😿

Thank you! We are super thankful he shared his personality with us for 14 years.

I'm so sorry for your lost! I saw your post because I just made one today too as my lovely boy passed away this morning while I'm 500 miles away from home and have not been able to meet him for 6 months already.
It has to be a tough time for you. I believe that they have had the happiest lives ever. Hope your dog meets my dog there and they could be friends! 💚

Ouuu, I am so sorry to hear that. Don't worry he will find you wherever you are. Spirits are strong with that pure heart on four paws.

They have wings now that we can fly and be anywhere and around us! 😊
