Friends,

The weather is changing. For the last two days and today also it is raining with heavy wind. Already semi-lockdown is going on in my locality due to COVID and the added one is rain.

So, nothing to do outside the house, and it reminds me of declaring “Rainy Day” at school.

These were the days we were waiting for. After attending school with wet school dress and wet leather shoes, when the Teacher informed us today is “Rainy Day”, so no classes would be held.

Those who traveled by School Bus had to wait till the time school closed. The playground became the resting area of those students.

With the wet school dress and the shoes, they jumped into the playground to learn how to play Football on Rainy Day. I used the word “Jump” as the playground became semi-pond-like status.

Someone showed their swimming skills on that waterlogged ground.

Just imagine the scene, with full school dress, students are swimming and playing in the waterlogged ground!

Now every class was not having football to play, so they played hide and seek on the ground and practiced how to snatch the football from other classes.

Those who were not traveling by school bus or stay nearer to school leave the school immediately after the announcement of “Rainy Day”.

You must have thought that they go to their residence, but no, either they try to find the ground outside school premises or try to the places where Guardians were not present.

Till the actual school hours end, they enjoyed the time with their friends.

Some senior students try to go to the cinema halls to watch movies, and if the hall is closed due to rain, they will roam around with friends.
But one thing was sure for most of the students that “Rainy day” meaning you have to drench in school dresses.

After reaching home one thing was common for everybody to earn the due scolding from their parents and to hear that from tomorrow onwards you are not allowed to go to school.

This was very common in the rainy season and as I studied in Boy’s school it happened to me every year also.

I am eagerly waiting to hear from you about your experience of “Rainy Day”.

Till then Stay Safe and Healthy.
