RE: PROMO token finalization idea

in HivePosh2 years ago

Sounds interesting. At the time of writing, Poshing requires "#hive" tag in the tweet to track it but I've noticed that sometimes Twitter's algo semi-shadowbans us or puts in in a narrow corridor where we're only talking to ourselves. So, the question is, do we have any other way to track Posh tweets besides just the "hive" tag? Perhaps it tracks just the link shared?

Same thing for Promo token, what if I'm having a discussion with someone on Twitter but don't want to continuously use "hive" as a tag in my tweets, how will my tweets be tracked?

How does it shadowban exactly? Is this proven/tested?

That's a good question, I guess we'd have to rely on curation for that part, if someone opens up the twitter link where you first used the hive tag and see that you went on discussing it for many tweets, etc, they'd give you a bigger vote/tip, etc, if it had a positive impact. Other than that I don't see how a bot could distinguish what you're talking about.

I don't know if it has been tested but there have been a number of Hive users who feel like their Hive tweets were being censored. For a while in the past, even 3speak videos were having issues with Twitter.

Hmm, would be nice to test it somehow concretely.

@belemo is right @acidyo! Excessive use of one tag in all your tweets, it's tag spam. Twitter might consider it commercially motivated spam.

Moreover, it won't look good (serve as a distraction) to the other party we are talking with.

If I'm not wrong Twitter Api let you query words, not necessarily #hive ;)

Awesome. It's great that we can pick words too. So most probably we might not need hashtags to track.

I'd be interested in looking more into that definitely.

About the "just links" now hive tag requirement, we will look into it if we can evolve posh into that.
