Huhm, if this question has been asked about a year or so ago, it would have been very different for me. But for close to a year now, it has been discord for me. It wasn't as if I planned it. I've been hearing of the discord app for a long time, but I really do not pay much attention to it. But then, life and hive led me there. Yea, life and hive.
Come to think of it, out of all the apps I have on my phone, discord happens to be the only app that I have free access to all its notifications, be it direct messages, community messages and all. It is the only app I didn't mute, even my WhatsApp is most times on mute. And I think that the fact that it's (discord).notifications are always on should tell you how important the app is to me.
I used to be very active on Whatsapp. That's where most of my friends are. But then, after joining discord, I realized it wasn't the same anymore. I started getting distant from WhatsApp. That made me introduce some of my close friends to discord, The main reason is that I wouldn't want them to feel like I was ignoring or snubbing them. Though I still try to be somehow active on Whatsapp because I'd post some wears, utensils and all for sale and there's the little thing I'd once in a while, it's more like anonymous where y'all feel free to ask questions, seek advice, pour your minds out and all. Even still, discord happens to still be topping the list.
I'm still navigating my way through discord, I still have some things I'm yet to know or really understand about the app, but still it feels different in a different kind of way. I've met with amazing people there, I'm a part of different communities on it as all. And one of such favorite community is the City Of Neoxian. Most people often refer to it as,"the city that never sleeps." No matter the time, either morning l, afternoon or night, you'll always find someone talking, sharing ideas, discussing, joking or just keeping each other's company. And that actually means a lot to me.
I really spend so much time on discord, also because most of hive communities have a discord channel, and that helps one navigate and understand things easily. You get to appeal, complain and talk directly to community moderators om there easily for whatever issues. There are times I'm just there, silent, reading chats and smiling, it makes me feel less lonely.
Discord happens to be one place that feel like I really belong. And I can't deny the that it has affect my life someway somehow. There are times I don't receive notifications for hours and I start getting disturbed, wondering what actually is wrong. Is it that no one tagged me, no one DM me, or what exactly is happening. But also, I've learned to give break when needed. For the past two weeks now, I haven't been that much active and some even asked me what was wrong. But it was me just trying to balance things while also prioritizing my health and taking time to really rest.
To me, discord has gone beyond just being an app on my phone, it is more of a small different kind of world in my phone. Somewhere I really connect, smile and be myself. And presently, that is my number one app-Discord.
Thanks a lot for taking your time to read through, kindly do well to stop by my blog @marsdave for more exclusive and amazing content.
