I wish we never grew up

in Indiaunited2 years ago

Children have so much innocence and where does it all get lost in the growing up, and why does it get lost. Almost all of us lose it, and I always wonder that why do these childhood traits not stay with us through out our lives. Why do they have to fade away in the societal and upbringing conditionings.

When I spend time with my nephews and nieces who are all still very young, it makes me feel like I too want to get back to that age and keep living forever in those times. When we are small, we want to grow up fast. In school days looking at the youngsters in college, I would feel, their life is so cool, I wish to get there soon. When I get there I would look at people in successful jobs and I wished to get there soon, and then I would look at married couples and wished that, life is so much fun there and wanted to get married soon, like wise it just kept continuing, from one stage of life to another.

But now to look back at it, the best of all were the childhood days. They were so carefree days; they were days of innocence. Even if there was a fight with anyone, we would move ahead so quickly. As children we barely differentiated between the rich and poor. Forgive and forget was so easy then, there would be no holding onto grudges and I just wished that we all adults could retain the same state of mind even after growing up.

As we grow up, we get onto competition with each other, we start holding grudges against each other, we get filled up with ego. The pride of our success in life gets over us. We were never like that in our childhood, we took life easy then. But as we kept growing up, we started making life difficult for ourself, with our own mindsets. The more we get the more we want. We never settle down with what we have and that's where we also start messing up the world with our greed and quest for acquiring more and more. The wars, the violence, crimes are all results of that.

Just imagine a world where everyone would still have a childlike mind, it would be such a harmonious place to live in. The conditionings and circumstances that we grow through starts shaping us and then we become what our experiences have taught us. As children we are pure, our minds are clean. We think good and we do good, but then as we grow up, we are taught by our schools and families of how to become monsters and ow to be never satisfied in life. The greed of acquiring more and more is feeded in our minds. We are taught not to settle down for less. In all this bargain the childlike innocence starts getting lost and we become just how our elders are, and this cycle keeps continuing from generations.

That is a fact that we can never be the same like what we are as children but we can still retain some of our childhood qualities consciously and live our life, which would be much more peaceful and contended and also a happy one.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

I often find myself on the same situation, I live on the same street the school I graduated from is and my oldest son is goes to that school, I pick him up every day when he is goes out before I go to lunch, pick him and both go home, every day I look at the school, things that have change, see students and some of my old professors, then try to remember what the hell I use to talk about when I was a kid and cant remember, but I guess is part of that innocense, probably use to say and think about things that make to sense to an adult but thats the beauty of that age, nothing really matters, no responsibilities, just live at 100% without regrets

Having your school so near to you, I am sure will keep bringing back lot of old memories. Specially friends who you would have been very close to and are now at a distance. Childhood days are so carefree and the best days of our lives

If only we can go back being a child no, but that's impossible now. But, I still act as a kid sometimes, just can't help it. We can be young again but only in our mind.

Ahaa, same here. I like to be childlike, it does bring in a lot of joy

I feel that way to, having a sad face everytime I see children playing on the ground under the rain. That they don't worries about anything but just to have time playing.

And on Grudge, a child don't hold grudges. They may fight each other but later on they're friends again. It's fun to think that if we have those kind of behavior maybe peace is always around us.

But anyways ,as we grow up and easily discover the things outside world , we don't have a choice but to go on.

As we grow up we become so fussy about things and people. True, that's the way of life, we have to keep moving ahead as we cross different stages of life

Indeed friend.

Given option everyone would stay a child, but someone has to parent right. 😅

I guess it all depends on what we pass on to the next generation. If we focus on building the next generation to be wise and more in touch with their innerself, rather than being materialistic. They may still have a chance.

We are more of lost cause at this point mind is polluted with the hunger for money, power and materialistic need that we are unable to look beyond ..

I would like to grow up, but with the same qualities that we had as a child. Growing up is not bad, but changing all of those childhood traits are some how messing up life.

I can totally relate to this. There are so many memories associated with my childhood that I want to relive. One of them is playing with my friends and being around the elders who are longer here.

We all have sweet memories of our childhood days and we remember them fondly till the end of our life. My granny at 86 also would tell us stories about her childhood times and ya, I too do the same to my son. It is the best time of our life

It feels like a hierarchical legacy that goes on. And thanks for this beautiful post. It reminded me of my good old days 😊

Me too how I wish we could go back to childhood days where we don't have problems except what to play, where to play, who will be with us when playing. No hatred, we cry but become friends again later on, no competition, to grudges and above all have a friendly and forgiving attitude.

It also makes me smile as I remember that when we were young we wish to become adult very soon and now we were adult we then wish to be child.

I love those times, when we fought at one moment and the next moment we are again with our friends. Such is the innocence of that time, no holding back. Love in it's purest form

Yes sis, sana Ang mga adult will have that attitude din ano. Kaya nga even Jesus Christ make children as an example na makapasok sa langit.

Just imagine a world where everyone would still have a childlike mind, it would be such a harmonious place to live in.

Honestly it will be a sweet place

Very much :-)
