One habit that has really affected me in life is procrastination and that's why I used to call procrastination a cankerworm and the reason being that it's in the past eaten deep into me and has really delayed me and made me static.
Through procrastination, I have lost so many opportunities. I could remember how I lost a building supply contract worth millions due to procrastination. Also, I could remember how I lost an employment opportunity due to my postponement of applying for said job when the advert for it was released.
All these that I'm saying is not something I always want to remember in my life and the reason being that, all have really held me down to a particular point at a certain stage of my life, maybe I would have been more than this and where I'm in life.
However, I thank God because he's never too late in the affairs of men. So, when I realized I was not moving at the speed which I would have loved to operate, I decided to have a personal retreat about myself and look inward into what was causing my delay and it's in my looking in ward that I found out that I was the one not helping myself with procrastination and due to this fact, I decided to embrace another way of life, another habit.
And to embrace another habit and a way of life, I still went back and looked inward and what I decided to embrace is proactiveness.
So, ever since I embraced another way of life of being proactive in my deeds and acts, everything began to work for me, what was not moving for me before now, began to work for me and I became a new me. Although, it's surprising to others how I have moved fast in life where I have overtaken all that have overtaken me before, but to me it wasn't asiI knew it's a change of habit and God that has helped me.to find my new self.
In conclusion, if there's a habit that has changed me and made me a new me, that habit is proactiveness and to be sincere with us, there's no way I would jettison it for procrastination again.
