We do joke with people overseas that all Aussies have kangaroos in their garden. But in this case, it's true. This week we woke up to three kangaroos in our front yard.
One was even called Kylie. She had a collar around her neck and tags on her ears.
We live a very short walk from a golf course where tourists come to see the many kangaroos that abound there. They even have guided tours. We know plenty of more wild places to see kangaroos but it's pretty cool for tourists.

Two of the kangaroos had joeys. Aren't they just gorgeous? I don't think I'm ever gone to get sick of these lovely creatures just outside my loungeroom.
To think we put out a bird bath for birds - I think it might become a kangaroo π¦ drinking bath as well! The little guy was a juvenile.
I adore their lovely fluffy ears.
I think they've been wandering the streets because it's been so dry and there's not enough food for them.
Sadly they often get hit by cars driving too fast. It's so frustrating. If people slowed down and kept an eye out!!! Worst, people don't check the pouches for joeys. Gutted. There is a local wildlife guy who we can call and he comes out and rescues them.
Do you have any wild creatures grace your garden?

They are really cute. when we had our potted little garden we would have chipmunks frequent our strawberries and eat them. They were cute to watch but didn't leave us any strawberries to eat :-)
It's hard to reconcile cuteness with the evil of strawberry thieves!
I am the only wild creature gracing my garden. Apart from the spiders. We have a fair few nice ones that keep the other bugs off the chilli.
Yes, I do have squirrels all around the fence of my garden and around our house. This reminds me, one day I will write an article about them as well.
One thing is confusing here, how does she carry her baby under her legs? I have been watching to see either her baby's legs or hands outside but none,
how actually is she carry this baby of hers, please, may I know if you do.
That is so funny, Kylie! Was this at your new house, or your old house?
The most exotic animal I have ever had in any of my yards was a blue heron. Injured. I had to call animal rescuers for her. I don't know what happened to her after that.
I know, so bizarre! It was the new place..such a lovely thing to wake up to! I can't believe how lucky we are to live here!

In the garden: voles and chipmunks. The rest of the yard, rabbits, skunks, groundhogs, squirrels, and sometimes deer.
Oh my that's SO cute! Most bigger wildlife in my region are feral dogs and cats. On the other side of the mountain you have the Intag valley, though, with Spectacled Bears, Pumas and such, but you don't usually see them. The biggest wild animals I've personally seen here were monkeys, big ones.
π€ π» Oh goodness please tell me more!!!!!
Isn't it funny how the creatures of another country can sound SO incredibly exotic? Kangaroos re really so mundane here unless you pay attention....it's about the joy focus for me. Even the most common things can be incredibly stunning!
