My son loves a new tv show called dinosaur range. He used to love dinosaur before but now he is obsess with them. A few days ago a was showing him some photos of his baby sister in hospital and some photos of our walk at the beach caves with his big sister.
Once he saw the caves he was certain that it was the cave of a dinosaur. He couldn’t stop talking about it he was so exited. He was seeing foot print on the photo… We promised him we will go once we have time and the weather is good. But while we are waiting to go I draw him a map of the caves. And I offered him some dinosaurs stickers so he and his big sister could stick the dinosaurs where they thought they will be.
He is holding his map so preciously it is just so cute. I wish I could drive to the caves but I’m recovering from a c section and I can’t drive.
But close to our house there is some bushes that makes a sort of cave. So I told them that we were going to see an other dinosaur cave today.
My son was over the moon when we found the cave he was talking about all those dinosaurs living in. We could see some rocks and I pretended they were dinosaurs eggs. I love how children will jump into an imaginary world. On the way back they were looking for dinosaur foot prints in the sand.
In the afternoon I set up a sensory play with little dinosaur figurines so they could recreate whatever they wanted about the dinosaur world.
So this was some easy way to follow the child’s interest:
Follow their lead: “there is a dinosaur in the cave.”
Extend it: let’s draw a map of the dinosaur cave, let’s explore an other cave, let’s have a sensory play with dinosaur, do some dinosaur colouring…
If you follow the child interest it will be more easy for them to learn new things because they are so into it. That is the beauty of learning through play.
Mon fils adore une nouvelle émission télévisée intitulée Dinosaur range. Il aimait les dinosaures avant, mais maintenant il est obsédé par eux. Il y a quelques jours, je lui montrait quelques photos de sa petite soeur à l'hôpital et quelques photos de notre promenade dans les grottes de la plage avec sa grande soeur. Une fois qu'il a vu les grottes, il était certain que c'était la grotte d'un dinosaure. Il ne pouvait pas arrêter d'en parler, il était tellement excité. Il voyait des traces de pas sur la photo… Nous lui avons promis que nous irons dès que nous aurons le temps et qu'il fera beau. Mais en attendant d'y aller je lui ai dessiné un plan des grottes. Et je lui ai offert des autocollants de dinosaures pour que lui et sa grande sœur puissent coller les dinosaures là où ils pensaient qu'ils seraient.
Il tient sa carte si précieusement c’est tellement mignon. J'aimerais pouvoir conduire jusqu'aux grottes, mais je me remets d'une cèsarienne et je ne peux pas conduire.
Mais près de notre maison il y a des buissons qui forme une sorte de grotte. Alors je leur ai dit que nous allions voir une autre grotte de dinosaures aujourd'hui. Mon fils était aux anges quand nous avons trouvé la grotte il parlait de tous ces dinosaures qui y vivaient. Nous pouvions voir des rochers et j'ai fait comme si c'étaient des œufs de dinosaures. J'aime la façon dont les enfants vont sauter dans un monde imaginaire. Sur le chemin du retour, ils cherchaient des empreintes de pas de dinosaures dans le sable.
L'après-midi, j'ai mis en place un jeu sensoriel avec de petites figurines de dinosaures pour qu'ils puissent recréer ce qu'ils voulaient du monde des dinosaures.
C’était donc un moyen facile de suivre l’intérêt de l’enfant :
Suivre leur idèe : « il y a un dinosaure dans la grotte.
Continuer a faire des activitees avec Cette idèe en tête: dessinons une carte de la grotte des dinosaures, explorons une autre grotte, ayons un jeu sensoriel avec le dinosaure, faisons un peu de coloriage de dinosaure…
Si vous suivez l'intérêt de l'enfant, il lui sera plus facile d'apprendre de nouvelles choses parce qu'il est tellement intéressé.
