Fall colors: Leaf Stamps Art Class with my little toddler πŸ‚πŸ

in Home Edders β€’ 2 years ago

Hello friends,

In recent years, autumn has always been sunny and warm in Romania. And as we used to, we had a long beautiful autumn this year too! Bright sunny days with a big smiling sun in the sky! β˜€οΈ

We made different activities with leaves πŸ‚ 🍁 and its been always a pleasure to plan nature inspired activities for my toddler! I also enjoyed doing these with him, I will admit that!

For this activity right here, all you need is:

  • water colors
  • drawing paper (or normal paper)
  • leaves

We've got Linden Leaves, Oak tree Leaves, Grape Vine Leaves, Sour Cherries Leaves. Any leaves you have will do! I love the biggest one!

I'll leave you lots of photos within the processs! We both had a great time doing this art activity.

You can get inventive! We used painting brushes for coloring, but maybe you can use something else instead.

Also, my toddler saw the acrylic paint we keep together with water colors in a big box and he really wanted to use those too so, here you can see his art work! Lol! He insisted to apply the paint using his fingers and hand.

In the end, he wanted to draw a Rainbow! My heart melted in pieces the moment I heard him saying this!! 🌈

Hopefully, I didnt overtired you with all these photos! But I though I leave these in here so you can see with your eyes what a beautiful and colorful activity we've made!

There's no really much to say about the process. Just let your imagination run wild and put some colors on the leaves. then easily make a leaf stamp on the paper! My kid was simply fascinated!

One TIP TO KEEP IN MIND is to have some wet napkins near by. Working with toddlers can get really MESSY!

And just a quick mention, here are Six Brain Health Benefits of Painting [source]:

  • Painting fosters creative growth

  • Painting strengthens memory (and concentration)

  • Builds problem solving and motor skills

  • Provides stress relief

  • Promotes an optimistic attitude

  • Painting nurtures emotional growth

And the most important thing, Painting is FUN and relaxing! πŸŽ¨πŸ–ŒοΈ

At first I thought it would take talent to draw such beautiful pictures. Nice to find out it's not that complicated when your kid can do it too

You're so right! Thanks for pointing it out!
