The red mark on the middle of of the head marks the marriage status of Indian Women. Call it Sindoor (vermilion) which are suppose to be applied by every hindu women as mark of their marriage. A Sindoor represent love, respect of marriage hood. A women is divorced or a widow never applied them on their head.
Today I thought to draw a portrait of an Indian women. And the end result comes out to be like this.
It was just a quick glance of a face in our local temple which made me draw this. The woemn comes out of the tenple with open hair and Chandan on forehead. It was a great sight early in the morning full of devotion and dedication. I loved that look and later tray to draw ger portrait at home.
Here is the step by step process where i started with the eye and end up painting the forehead and head with water colour.
This is the actual represntstion of an indian hindu women who just comes out of the temple after her worship. Hopefully I manage to draw it properly.
