DIY Activity Board in Less than 30 minutes

in Home Edders3 years ago

Not long ago, I made a DIY activity board for my children. They played ages for a few months until it wore out. There are lots of DIY toys ideas on the web that are easy to make and inexpensive.

This Activity board was made in less than half an hour. It's a great tool for sensory and motor skills.

This really helped my child Robbie who had been diagnosed with SPD disorder (Sensory processing disorder), It is a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes from the senses. In short, sort of like a traffic jam inside your body. We are giving him a DIY therapy at home and so far, he is doing very well.

These are the materials that I found in our home. I glued them in a recycled box. Materials such as sponge, Bag that i never used and yarn. Some few household items like pulses, stickers and other stuff such as door lock and on/off switch.

Exploring and feeling the texture keeps them busy as a bee.

  1. It helps them develop their motor skills.
  2. It encourages creativity and learning.
  3. It promotes thinking skills.
  4. It provides hours of play.
  5. Inexpensive and fun.

And you can always make it with them for a joint activity. It can also be a great handmade gift for toddlers on Birthday's or any occasions.

It's truly heart-warming when you see them playing with the toy you made yourself. It's worth it.

Toys don't just come in the boxes, It's made out of boxes too.

Thank you so much for coming.

Happy learning!

I didnt have any of these when my kid was about this phase but I did read a lot about them. They are indeed a great item to have for the little ones, stimulating learning and cognitive and motor skills.
