THE 2ND LIFE OF OLD TOYS

Do you throw old toys away?
If I don't give them to my friend's son, I try to make their life longer and create for them new ways of usage.

For example, our new invention was this one...

We had a great sorter for toddlers. It was supercool, and my son liked to play with it very much
You can find it in Aliexpress if you want, or I can give you a link

It had many variants of usage, but the principle was the same - a baby had to sort cards.

I liked this wooden box too, and despite most cards were lost already but the box was saved.

So I decided to give it the 2nd life!😃

Now my son studies Maths much, and just doing it in copybooks is too boring, and he is tired from it in 5 min.
When it's an interesting game, he forgets it's Maths and can play it much longer training his skills at the same time;)

So I wrote different numbers in all these box parts. It is the result of his Math tasks.

Then we needed just tasks themselves. It was my son's initiative to help me doing it because he likes cutting;)

Ok, we were making a new game together and it was fun too for both of us.

And when we wrote many tasks with + and -, his goal was to find "home" for all these handmade cards.

When he was wrong, I imitated card's voice with sad cries: "Oh, no, Vlad, it's NOT my home...Please, find mine right now!"
And he was hurrying to help a lost card:)

When he was right, a card said: "Yeahhh, cool! I'm at home, thank you, Vlad!", and he was happy😃

Do you create new ideas with old toys?

Sort:

Recycling old toys is a good idea! I Dont throw any of the toys we have and believe me....we have tons of them but I always thought of not give them yet because I wish for another baby and I'll need those but now I'm thinking that is a good idea to recycle some of them, at least.
Thanks for the idea.

Btw, we have that green sorter toy as well! We have it at my mom's house but to be honest, my son isn't attracted to it. He never was. He only used it to play with the numbers that came for sorting LOL. always numbers 😂

yeah I remember your post about your little Maths genius;)😃🌟
I saved them for the next baby too, but in my life the bsst surprises occur when I don't expect for them, so I decided not to be ready and then...maybe who know...;))

Blessings @taliakerch, giving toys a second chance is fun,you can create amazing toys with new uses like the one you present teach math in a fun way.

Peace and Good!
