RE: The future of Steem-Engine Tribes on Hive-Engine

At this point, I'd rather just wait out Hive Media Tokens (or whatever they will be called) and migrate to a first layer solution.

So, personally, I would prefer a sorta "hybrid" solution to this.

Keep Hive-Engine for creating custom tokens ( while we wait for "HMT"s to come ), but use the main layer for "tribes". How? Simple: Ditch "tribes" for communities.

I'm working in a group that is fully adopting Hive & creating many projects for it. One of the projects I pitched is a tipping bot that, in addition to other various features, would allow people to reward posts in Hive Communities that they own & operate with their own Hive-Engine token.

Basically, the way I see it is:

  • Communities are the new tribes
  • Let's develop a simple solution to handle rewards in various tokens
  • Make this free & easy to setup for normies

Tribes were for when we didn't have communities, but now we do, so let's just start using those.
