Isn't that what we are trying to do here?
I wouldn't be in favor of hard coding anything, but if the crowd decides to establish a custom, that is also what we are doing here, imo.

Promo sites work because an admin controls everything...just everything. Hive doesn’t work like that — the blockchain runs independently of any website. Front‑ends just show the content, they don’t manage the rules or the rewards. Witnesses i think only vote on protocol parameters like HBD APR, not on user withdrawals or how front‑ends operate.
And by the way, if protocol changes were made based on whatever the crowd wants at a given moment, Hive would quickly become a playground for manipulation and bad actors.
It is already a playground for the top 10 stakeholders since years.
Ok buddy, but even if some parts of Hive feel controlled, that doesn’t mean you should be demoralized. The ecosystem is bigger than that, and people are still here building.
