Yea there is a personal element to downvoting.
That’s why I’m trying separate @hurtlocker actions from the dialogue that occurs here.
You can look at activities on my @hurtlocker account, you can see a lot of the stuff I’m downvoting is AI or spam, not all, but a lot.
Unfortunately the @hurtlocker account will be a hammer in search of a nail, I’m only doing this because I think this is the approach HIVE needs.
There are multiple problems:
There is a culture of freaking the F out when someone gets downvoted. Maybe I don’t like your posts does? Maybe I was having a bad day? I should be allowed to downvote things I don’t like without it turning into some insane firestorm. Maybe that’s wishful thinking and it will never change? Who knows.
There are a lot of people just farming the block chain. They don’t like doing it but they need the money. I don’t think that’s good for us or them. There are more important things than money. There are plenty of more creative people than me from all walks of life and I hope they come here. There are plenty of posts of pictures that I see that I enjoy. Maybe it’s not their picture? Maybe they copied it from someone else? But that’s often less repetitive and less blatant. In your case we had a conversation about it, I explained what was on my radar at the time. I hope I can have more conversations with people like that here and even upvote their content one day.
