Yea I think that is a good catch on what could happen to Bitcoin if there is a military conflict. One pro and con to Bitcoin is it is fairly easy to just dump it like crazy. Bitcoin is WAY more susceptible to emotions of traders than most assets are.
Most stock market's have "circuit breakers" which is basically where they just stop people from trading if prices dump too much 😅
That said on hive there are too many extractors with 20+ KE getting too many autovotes, big votes etc
Yea I have a hard time even understanding why this is happening. Like the people who get auto upvotes, that is a nice heirloom imo. I am not sure why so many users on here just sell all their HIVE when they could be leveraging the auto upvotes they receive to build a stake and curate with it.
Also most of posts have no attractive value for an outsider
Yea I agree. There are good posts on here but they are hard to find. I think the idea originally is good posts would get on trending but that doesn't really happen that often 😅
The high KE accounts aren’t effecting price near what the HBD stabilizer do & DHF overall. There are whales powering down far more. This is a silly distraction. Do the math.
How much does the HBD Stabilizer cost the chain?
That's why I don't do trading on crypto, too much volatility 😄 I have faith in hive and keep stacking, not here for trade, I rather keep going with my sport trading that has way less fluctuations and give easier room for a stop loss before bleed
I would disable the auto vote feature, at least people would be forced to check who they are voting to, if the user after getting some autovotes just start spam crap or extract and such
How? I completely agree that automating social interactions is absolutely the death knell of social media. We didn't come here to interact with AI. If we want to talk to bots we can subscribe to an LLM. We come here to interact with people, and every action we take here should be personal.
But the code doesn't enable that restriction in it's present form.
Need some dev work for sure, for the next nodes update, then I guess they can just disable somehow... Not sure how to bring that up to the devs or feel the community sentiment over a change like that
There's no capacity presently to disable scripts or socks. The only tool Hive really has to discourage behaviours is DV's, and it's impossible to tell an autovote from a manual vote unless people using autovoters tell us they use them. The platform has dozens of mechanisms scripted in that add functionality to the chain, and anything we did that disabled autovoters would wreak havoc on all of them.
Oracles that enable identifying actual unique humans that Ned discussed before bailing might enable us to differentiate socks from 'mains', but that still wouldn't disable autovoters without disabling all sorts of useful and beneficial scripts, like ArcHive, all the various blockchain explorers, and the front ends themselves, as I understand it.
For sure! That Bitcoin volatility gets wild sometimes….def not for everyone 😆
I feel the same about HIVE longterm and I will keep stacking myself.
I understand how you feel about auto upvotes. I have talked to other people who have a similar sentiment as you. I’m not sure what disabling it even looks like or if it would work longterm.
What do you mean by sport trading? Sounds interesting!
It would be interesting to try but I reckon there are a lot of people even with big stake using it a lot not to manually curate so I can hardly see it coming...
Sport trading is basically the same as any financial trading (or trading on hive engine) but done with quotes of events (1 X 2) instead of shares or tokens, market maker style with buy/sell sides... I usually trade the draw so I place a order to buy the draw (let's say like at 3,55), wait to get paired then I place a sell order on the draw (lets say at 3,5), when someone buy it, I earn the difference (0,05 in that case), keep repeating this over time and then cashout BEFORE the match start so you are never really doing any bet... Not sure if it's clear enough, that's an example of a trade closed
That’s super interesting! I’ll have to check that out. I probably won’t get too into but I still want to research it and understand it better. Thanks for sharing!
It gave me good satisfactions, some other people really skilled at it made like 200-300€ per match... 'Prematch sport trading' / 'betting exchange' should give enough results, in Italian there is really a little about the prematch like i do (on betfair), I have learn the basics from a guy and developed myself then
You welcome!
