Hello Hive,
I though I'll share a new post with the small fixes I added since last time.
You can read more about the project in the Hive proposal in which I explain all of it.
But what is Inkito ?
Inkito is a new platform based on the Hive blockchain build specifically for the long form episodic content like comics or novels. It makes the reading experience better with an infinite loop and organises content as series throughout the site.
- Rewards Display
After sharing the site to several artist friends, many pointed out how confusing it was to show the rewards on the home page. Being a blockchain user for while now, I didn't realize how confusing this could be.
I decided not to display them on the main page for now.
It still appears in the posted page though. It is one of Hive's great benefits after all!
- Info Tab Images
Finally found a way to tackle @bryan-imhoff 's suggestion of allowing images in the info tab. I had to find a way to sort them out in some way.
So for any Hive.Blog user that want to add your existing comic blog to Inkito with the tags, any image posted after the first horizontal rule would display in the description area, and not in the main content area. The first image always displays by default in the content area to avoid blank episodes.
Novels are displayed differently, and images are not split between two areas. So you guys are fine!
- Inkito Banner
This new feature allowed me to set an Inkito banner on any content posted through the site. This banner links directly to the same content on Inkito.
This has two main purposes. Help readers follow the story with the integrated navigation buttons or infinite canvas.
It also helps promote the platform to those who don't know about it. Just a few persons left really !? ;-)
As you can see, the horizontal rule and banner disappear when read on Inkito.
Thanks to regular expressions I was able to filter content before display.
- Home Page Layout
Finally, I spent a lot of time improving how the home page looked on mobile.
I wanted:
-- At least two columns of content;
-- Vertical alignement every two cards even without enough trendy comics;
-- A great responsive layout even after filtering (categories or trend).
The difference might not be so visible, but it's much cleaner now!
And that's all for now...
I'll probably work next on the user feed page, to see only content from followed creators.
For any interested Hive creator out there!
You can already add your content to the platform using the right tags.
Adding the series id on all corresponding posts, writing it as follows "author-seriesname" (example: "jrej-shadesofmen") The series name is for you to choose but must be the same for all episodes.
Adding the tag "inkito-comics" or "inkito-novels" on your most recent post for ranking.
Optionally you can add categories as tags in your first episode. The categories could be any of the following. "action, comedy, drama, fantasy, horror, mystery, romance, scifi, sliceoflife"
The first post would include some of the main series info. The first image would be your series cover image and the title, the series title. Hope to see some of you over there.
