First Light of Dawn

in #hiveyesterday

After dozens of conversations—both behind closed doors and out in the open—we are finally beginning to see some change. The truth is, no matter how much you spin it, no matter how good the intentions are, our path needed correction.

To me, it comes down to the system of incentives. When it comes to human behavior and predictability, you can remove a considerable amount of uncertainty if you take the time to design the incentive structure. With that in mind, it seems like an obvious choice to revisit outflows from DHF alongside revising incentives.

Of all the good things and great moments we saw at HiveFest, the most bullish event didn’t happen on any stage. An agreement was struck between some of our most important stakeholders, and new rules have been put forth—a new consensus, one that aligns with the long-term survival of this blockchain we call home.

You can read all the details here, so I won’t bore you by repeating them. But I sincerely think all of us should understand this, and certainly all of us should support this shift in the tides.

I realize some people are still saying, “too little, too late,” but if that is sincerely how you feel, well, then you’ve already made up your mind. There are plenty of us who refuse to leave and who refuse to hang up the gloves.

Maybe it’s connected to today’s news, maybe not. But the price of Hive beginning to move up a bit—at least as I write this—might indicate sentiment shifting. Maybe. Who knows? Then again, Trump might tweet about how horrible China is and dump the whole market again tomorrow.

At any rate, my friends, if you were hoping for the first light of dawn, I think we got it. And I think it’s more than okay to smile about it too.

So many things have the "too little, too late" kind of aftertaste, but in the end it's still "at least something", to keep building on, to keep improving. Sometimes, after many little lates, a big awesome right now comes along.

I had not seen this roundtable post so thanks much for letting us know about it. Seems like a step in the right direction. Good start of a convo in the comments there too.

Yes... it brings me hope again

Change is good and necessary, and the more we can change for the better, the more attractive and appealing Hive will be for everyone. We can never stop evolving!

correctisimo meu broder

I've been waiting for this.

Read the post concerning the DHF and I was hoping if those who could actually do something about it would see it

Glad decisions have been made, now we watch, hope and pray.

if the actions are taken, we will be alright

Better late than never.

Ssh, don't give the deranged oompa loompa any ideas...

lol true true

It’s great to see the Hive community coming together with a shared vision for the future. Updating incentives to match long-term goals sounds like a smart move, and the positive vibes from HiveFest make it feel like exciting times are ahead.
