This is always an issue when people do not read the blogs and just from the title of the blog interpret the content and make comments. It is very annoying, and it clearly displays that the person who is making such comments is not at all serious about this work and just spamming.
Why should one make irrelevant comments and bring down one's own reputation? There is no compulsion about commenting, one should maintain the sanctity of this activity. There are all different types of commenters, some read in-between the lines, some just comment from the subject line of the post, and some of them I absolutely do not understand why they comment in the first place.
What do comments like "Nice Post", "Interesting Post " "Very Good" "Beautiful"....and blah...blah mean. I can also go ahead and do that on 100s of posts in a single day. If you have no time and patience to curate then please do not, but do not show your level of ignorance and make yourself sound silly. It is annoying when people do these trash things. Every person who is serious here, takes a lot of effort in making the comment and in curation as well. So people who are in the habit of such things should refrain from doing such junk things.
Most of the pictures I use on my posts are from pixabay and I clearly mention source for all of them, the pictures are just meant for visual effects to give some weightage to the content, but then there are some who will overlook all the content, as if it holds no meaning and make comments like, Nice picture. I seriously want to go and bang their heads. Anyways needless to say I ignore these irrelevant comments
Curation is a very important activity in building up one's reputation on the platform, not in terms of the number reputation but in the real sense. It is one of the major activities, even if one is not making posts one can earn with effective curation and when one brings good sense to it, one can also build a good reputation. If we want to grow the platform we need to maintain hygiene here so that genuine people who join find good value in this place and the people.

It's always a good bit of fun to respond to such posts with the very comments in question. :0)
😁 dont worry I m not going to bang your head for this one
Dear, do not be upset. Take a deep breath and move on! Everyone has a reason for their work.
The important thing is to take the right path and offer love, friendship and experience and everything you have.
Some people who want it benefit from it and others simply go through it.
Sometimes an emoji shows the depth of inner feeling for a post and sometimes a picture or a smile or a word .... Do we understand it ?!😍
I am not upset, I can understand how the journey of a newbie is but all I want to say is there are no shortcuts and one needs to be meaningful here with right behavior and attitude. That's how we will maintain the sanity of this place.
Thank you for the insight. I'm not necessarily new but I have started to spend more time reading posts. I did do the very thing you're are speaking against. Being new to the platform I didn't know how to properly use it. I read an article but I didn't give it the time I should have to respond the way I should have. As a result, I was rebuked politely, I apologized and never did that again. I hope to be an asset to the community someday.
Forgive me as I stumble to earn my stripes. I am teachable. :)
That's nice to hear, We all learn and grow, it is ok to make mistakes but then once we learn and understand then we need to be careful to not repeat them again. I wish you all the very best in your journey. This place has given success to all those who have dedicatedly put efforts.

I read a lot of posts, but only comment on posts that I think I can say something more, add something to the content, or have a conversation with the author, or people reading that post.
Lol, funny thing is that, I see a lot of really cool picture post on hive. But I don't know what to comment on them. 'Nice view?' doesn't seem to cut, and feels like spamming.
So, I don't comment on them, even if I loved the pictures of the author😅
That's a very good practice and I wish that everyone can follow the same @looftee.
It happens with me too, some posts I do understand but I find it complicated to make a comment so I avoid in such a case
I know what you mean, that's why I proposed Hive to reward writers based on the content, I mean if someone wrote a 7 minutes content should be rewarded on how long a person's spend on their post, also the reader should also be rewarded on how long they spent on a post. Which means if the post is 1 minute long it cannot gain more than the reward/time /person. And voting should be something extra like a tip or adds validity or rank of the post. So those commenting two words will not get any rewards.

That is advisable, but again sometime some people write short content occasionally but something very meaningful, valuable and knowledgeable so it would be hard to classify such contents. On the commenting part most of the people do it with the intention of gaining visibility but in the bargain they are spamming and bringing down their own reputation
I completely agree with you on this. Even I don’t see any sense when people just say ‘nice write up’. Once or twice one might say that genuinely but that doesn’t drive engagement so in a way makes no sense. I don’t comment until I relate to the post. And I don’t read post that don’t touch me. I guess that’s fair.
When people make such comments it clearly shows that they have not read, but again as you say that once in a way we may say that genuinely and that can be judged from the overall commenting that the person does on all the different posts, and true that's very fair. There are times when I have liked some content very much but not able to comprehend with it completely and do not even have the right words to reply back, so then I mention in short.
Same happens with me. Sometimes a post just gives me learning, things I didn't know earlier. I like such posts but don't have much to say about them and so I end up saying "Nice post" :)
