HIVE Ecosystem: Replace Fish and Mammals with Insects

in #hive3 years ago

Thanks to the @hivebuzz for implementing the achievement system, that motivates me to be active in an easy way. Love achievements :) But it looks a little strange to preserve the classification of users as in the Steemit ecosystem (whales, orcas, dolphins and minnows). Don't know why, I was absent during the fork. Maybe, it was decided to keep it as something authentic.

Anyway, the Hive is a much smaller ecosystem than the ocean, but no less complex. Bees are amazing creatures that have lived in their own well-functioning society for millions of years. And their model shows efficiency. Let's try to classify Hive users as bees with different roles.

In a simplified version, we have 4 main roles in the Hive. Larvae, drones, workers and queens.

Larvae (Minnows)

Small, white, defenseless, hanging out in her isolated honeycomb. Constantly sends signals to the Hive in the form of modest posts and comments, the essence of which is "feed me with voices". No one knows what she will eventually be reborn into. Maybe it will be a drone, a worker bee or even a future queen. Or, the poor larva will quietly die in its honeycomb, stop calling older brothers.

A large number of larvae is the key to the growth and development of the Hive. After all, each larva contains unlimited potential, which can be realized in any of the other roles. Unfortunately, she will not be able to fully realize her potential on her own, without the support of older bees. But the larva must not give up…

Worker bees (Orcas and Dolphins)

This class is very diverse. Gatherers, builders, nannies, water carriers, and security guards. They found their calling and clearly follow it, working for the benefit of the Hive, first of all I think about the benefits and the result, not about the reward. After all, the bigger and stronger the Hive, the better for everyone.

Nannies (@ocd, @magicmonk, @proofofbrainio...) - are those, who look after the larvae, feed them, create communities to support these babies, guides and contests.

Builders and security guards (@taskmaster4450, @gtg, @lukestokes...)- crypto-enthusiasts and witnesses who are expanding the Hive space in a global environment. They plan the architecture, maintain the operability, create the foundation for this house. Improves the usability of the platform for the protection and convenience of users and content.

Water carriers and Gatherers (@dandays, @meesterboom, @gringalicious, @nonameslefttouse, @azircon...) - users, who produce quality and unique content on an ongoing basis, set trends for discussion. After all, a social platform without content, like a hive without water and food, cannot survive.

Drones (No Steemit classification. Bees, who dream to fuck the Queen)

Drones do not clearly bring production benefits to the hive, they do not work, do not build, do not guard, do not care for the larvae. The only goal in life is to find the queen and fuck her. In the past, these were maggots who decided to go along the "jackpot" route.

They do not contact with the rest of the hive, minimize communications. Their task is to attract the attention of the queen and get the maximum profit from her. Ideally, become her favorite, when each post will receive the Queen's vote automatically.

Not everyone comes to success, in a real hive, the drone dies immediately after mating. Those who remain virgins, will kicked out of the hive by guards in autumn. In a sense, when autumn and winter come to the crypto market and there is no chance to fuck the queen, user drones voluntarily leave the platform.

But don't belittle the importance of drones! It is thanks to them and the queen that new larvae are born. I think that a lot of larvae come here, seeing the explosive success of some drones and imagining that they can do the same. This is the way.

Queens (Whales)

There may be one reigning queen in a classic hive. The platform has evolved a little in this direction and used the practice of Brachygastra mellifica, which allow for the existence of many queens.

Users with tremendous power who have invested their capital in the growth of the Hive. They do not perform active visible work except for laying offspring (larvae). In fact, attracting new users to the platform, including luring worker bees to a new hive. Getting the queen's vote for many of us is the best recognition of merit.

If the queen has fertilized the larva, then the larva can get any of the roles of a working bee. If you haven't been fertilized, well, welcome to the drones casino.

Beekeeper

The omnipotent, omnipresent, god and the devil in one person, who can decide the fate of the entire hive. Who is he? Well, good news my fellow-bees, we live in a wild and free Hive. Beekeeper Justin Sun stayed at Steemit. Good Luck.

There was much talk of replacing the categories of fish but it never seemed to catch on. Maybe people didn't want to get too caught up in the Beet of the moment!

As long as we keep hornets out of the equation, I am a happy man :OD

I think the whole concept should die with the ocean. Ever notice how it fucks with peoples heads? We're all just humans on the other side of devices, but because of certain labels, some feel small, some feel big; and it often goes to their heads. "I'm just a tiny fish" sounds so goddamn depressing...

You and Boom are undoubtedly right. Classifying people is terrible, and these topics with bees have tired everyone. But Jesus Christ, I'm just trying to get new ugly badge like this

Change Hive Power on Honey Power, for saying "Wanna some honey, honey?" or "No honey, no money". And, If we're all a little lucky here, then Winnie the Pooh will become Hive ambasador.

Slogan could be, "Think think think think think think think think think think think think think."

Yeah, totally man. When people started calling themselves various types of sea creature I thought I'm a damned dirty ape, don't label me so!!

I'm a tiger!

I see you!!! I think, whatever the fuck that is (demonic fried chicken leg?), I would run from it!!

No, never run!!

I don't even know what I am these days.

A Not-whale is probably as far as I'd go. Or a Dont-Care. Either! Once you've been here long enough, it's absolutely irrelevant. As long as I'm in my own pond having fun splashing about, that'll do me..

That's pretty much it. Just do whatever. Who cares. LOL!

My 15's hardly 1/3 of his. #Gulp

Your 15s brings all the boys to the yard!!

My english is no so good to understand such a laconic joke... something about penis, right ?:)

No, negative. Not at all actually. I mean I'm vain if that's what you mean but all my penis jokes are short.

(Voting. NoNames and I both voted Boom 15%)
;~}

You know I never thought about that.. it's a real shame we didn't come up with a new hierarchy. Not sure how some of the whales would feel about being called queens though 🤣 Well written, thought out and presented...

U r awesome.

I think it will be more offensive to get the nickname "Larvae", than to feel like a queen, especially if you are a brutal bearded man ;)

U r awesome.

You spoil me rotten, lady :)

it looks a little strange to preserve the classification of users as in the Steemit ecosystem

The classification is not from "Steemit" but from what we are used to in the cryptosphere, especially "whales"
Has already been explained many times, this classification is "weight" based i.e. relative to the amount of HIVE you have staked (powered-up) and your influence on governance.

Insects and bees classification is "role based", which would be hard to implement and track.
We gave it I try before launching HiveBuzz but had to gave up because it is not "working"

I'm sorry if it looked like a claim! Absolutely not, this is rather a rhetorical question for the introduction :)
You've done a wonderful job. When preparing this post, I was well aware that this topic was discussed more than once. But when did something like this stop someone ;)

Cool!
I suggested something similar, but with ants! Because there are some ant species, who can have multiple queens, like on Hive, not only one. And drones are - well, not that attractive as category.
https://peakd.com/hive/@stayoutoftherz/proposal-for-a-new-hiver-classification-vorschlag-fuer-eine-neue-hiver-einteilung

I'm crazy about ants! Their social structures are amazing. Your classification is more suitable, as you correctly noted, drones are not the most pleasant category. However, I have been thinking about this for a long time, and to be honest, such users really exist. I think they can also be considered content thieves.

The topic submitted for consideration is interesting. But...
The ratios given as an example are not very suitable.
Maybe just replace it with something else?
I think someone else will come up with ...))
Thank you!

Oh, come on! You just don't like the vile appearance of maggots :) These crumbs are not as cute as shiny fish :)
