The other day @steevc tagged me in a comment about UK Steemians now on Hive.
That prompted me to revisit the last list of active UK Steemians from 27 February 2020.
From that list of 121 plus 5 expats, 90 plus the 7 expats made the move to Hive.
The Missing Third
Getting approximately two thirds over to Hive is not too bad.
The big question is what happened to the other third - did they stay on Steem, or did they leave both chains.
I haven't done a full analysis but it looks like the large bulk of the 'missing third' just left both chains.
That is sad.
I wonder what scope there would be to 'reclaim' the Missing Third?
What would entice them back?
Has anyone done any similar analysis for other countries?
Filling the Gaps
I am assuming, and hoping, that there have been new UK recruits since the split.
I have not been doing any tracking or tracing but if anyone knows of any new Hivians in the UK do let me know and I will add them to the list.

I’m there in the North of England - making smoke signals with coffee roasting - a six times bigger roaster produces much more smoke - who would have believed it!
I swear I will lock-on to the scent one day soon and the greatest meeting since Nixon met Frost, Abbott met Costello Or Donald met Kim ((Uhm... maybe strike that last one!!!)) shall transpire. I now feel obliged to clarify that the scent I was referring to was that caffeine infused awesomeness and not me hinting at a personal hygiene issue!!!
Maybe waiting for the day when we are allowed to cross the threshold without being tasered and/or vaccinated with Hydroxychloroquine may be a good idea before embarking on such an adventure lol.
Lol with my new 30kg batch coffee roaster the smoke signals should be visible from Hull to Blackpool!
If in the north, just follow the scent of roasting beans and it will lead you to the c0ff33a tycoon. 😎

Made the move to Hive and learned how to programmatically interact with the blockchain too.
So now I am a UK Hive Dapp builder as well! :-)
What I would love to do when we can all start getting together again is do some presentations at events to help onboard new people now that I have a game to entice them!

@pennsif I'm still here! Stick me in the Wales section please butt. I curate posts most days @welshstacker gets regular votes from me but I will look at the list and start to follow some of my fellow UK Hivians. They might even get a regular vote from me!! Personally I'm powering down at Steemit and converting Steem to Bitcoin when the mood takes me.
I would like to contribute more to the platform but I haven't really had much to say that hasn't already been said and getting seen is never easy. I knnow I'll get a reply and discussion on Fartbook and I've even joined Twitter but thats mainly to berate government ministers.

Hi Karl, I did think of including a MIA list but decided against it in the end. Compare and contrast with the old list will reveal who's gone. Hopefully they will be tempted back again soon.

I feel like the stresses of the lockdown have put some people into a a bit of a funk where they've lost interest here. I know I was struggling to do much more than check in occasionally at one point. I couldn't get into writing at all. I hope that we'll see more back again as people manage to get themselves back on track.
