I can provide a free 'secondary steem' account if you want to change your Steem vesting withdrawal route!

Just a quick one.....

The latest softfork 22.8888 over on Steem has frozen the stake of the following eight accounts:

  • freedom
  • pumpkin
  • gtg
  • roelandp
  • blocktrades
  • good-karma
  • steempress
  • darthknight

This means that unless they have changed their vesting withdrawal routes they currently cannot withdraw their Powered Down Steem, along with being blocked from being able to perform other functions.

The justification for this is that they either ran version 0.23 during the last hardfork and were still in the T20 rank, or voted/ proxied to more than 10 witnesses running version 0.23.

While the softfork announcement claims that these restrictions only apply to accounts with 'high influence' and to a max of 20 accounts, let's face it you can't trust Justin Sun....

Now that the code is in place, and ALL of the current T20 witnesses (read Justin's server) are/ is running SF 222888 it's a matter of ease to expand this list to ANY account which voted for any amount of those real top 20 witnesses.

Also, let's face it, there's a few names NOT on that list who you might have expected to be there, again suggesting some arbitrariness and irrationality in the selection.

This means that you could wake up tomorrow to find your Powered Down Steem funds frozen.

There is a way around this - if you've got a second account that has never voted on the 'real T20' old-steem witnesses, then you can change your vesting withdrawal route so that each week's PowerDown goes direct to a second 'clean' account.

It's a very easy process with very clear instructions provided in this post by @clayboyn.

In case you voted for any those witnesses and don't happen to have a second account I have lots of Steem accounts I've claimed over the last few months - DM me on discord and I'll create one for you and send you over the keys.

NB - I guess it's possible for JS to also freeze account actions on the funds of any account, so this may not work, it might be possible to send the funds straight to Bittrex, I noticed @gtg has done this, but I really don't have a clue how you'd route it to your wallet there, at least not using the method @clayboyn outlines.

Anyway, moving your withdrawals to a second account at least gives you a GREATER chance of being able to access all of them over the coming weeks.

ReviseSociology#8113 ON Discord if you want a free second Steem account, I'll create one and ping you over the keys, you might want to change the password straight away if you don't trust me!

Interesting side note

@themarkymark points out in this post that four Steem witnesses have been unapproved very recently - some familiar names there - @exyle (blockbrothers) and @dtube for example - kudos to them for NOT agreeing to this at least!

So all of the above are either Justin or his bitch.

Beyond Double Speak

This 'protecting the chain' by punishing people for acts in the past is something George Orwell couldn't have dreamed up. I don't think 1984 is a suitable analogy for the Steem-dystopia, it's too different, but one area where it does apply is double speak - which Justin Sun does like a pro, and I don't think it's the language barrier!

Sort:

He wants a hive, no. You guys punched the investor. Just return it.

.

I was thinking in case it gets extended to anyone else, but you're right if they want to freeze our stake there's probably not a lot we can do about it at the end of the day!

This is a hypocritical action as Steemit and their puppet witnesses all said they would not freeze the accounts of others. They need to be exposed for this.

I think word will get out somehow!

Decentralised marketing - ie lots of users tweeting about this is much more effective than centralised marketing!

apparently if you have an active powerdown the steem cannot be frozen... so that is at least something

I'm sure it can, I changed my route anyway.

I feel sorry for darthknight - he's set his vesting withdrawal route to 'bittrix' - he's got 800K going to someone else's account tomorrow.

scared? Are you afraid? Just like you did to Steemit users.
