Useful links for exploring the Hive ecosystem

Just a list of Hive tools and d'apps I find myself using most often!

General information about Hive!

I guess I've got to start with the 'hub' web site - hive.io - the basic entry point to Hive for basic info and links to account sign ups.

Hive.blog is the 'original' or most 'basic Hive Front End, providing a basic blogging platform and Hive wallet. The FAQ list there provides answers to basic Hive questions, although these FAQs are a bit dated.

hiveprojects.io is the best starting point to find out about Hive applications and tools.

HiveProjects.io provides a list of all the projects on Hive organised under a number of different categories, such as 'block explorers', 'interfaces', 'games' and so on. As well as projects developed on Hive, there are also some links to external sites and projects relevant to Hive - such as all the exchanges which list the Hive token.

HiveProjects.io is a great resource, I really the way they've categorized the projects, making it very easy to get an overview of what's occurring on Hive, and they have an 'other' category too!

There are also dome handy comparison grids under each category, so you can compare similar projects too.

NB this is a very inclusive database, so some of the projects listed are under development, i.e. not that developed, so not necessarily that useful (yet!)

Hive Dapps is a list of Dapps maintained by @therealwolf - a very handy place to keep up with Dapp development and a useful base for a 'click and explore' experience!

The Hive Discord Server - where anyone can drop in and ask Hive related questions.

Tracking account data on Hive

BeeMe.icu - is a user friendly tool which allows you to easily check your current voting power and vote value, your author and curation rewards (broken down by all time, last week, last month and pending), and to explore a whole range of blockchain transactions. You can also check and change your delegations and claim account tokens using this excellent tool.

To explore your own data you need to click the 'switch account button' and enter your username.

NB.. Spare a thought for @steemchiller, the guy who originally created this on tool on Steem, someone has basically copied his work and translated it for the Hive blockchain. Of course had he made it open source in the first place, 'copying' it wouldn't have been a problem!

Hive Buzz tracks your achievements on the Hive block chain: it allows you view your achievement badges and how you are ranked compared to other accounts according to several variables.

Two useful and slightly different block explorers

HiveBlocks.com - add your user name and you can see your latest transactions (posts/ votes/ transfers etc.) as well as some basic blockchain data to the right such as the size of the current rewards pool, and the total token supply.

Hive.db.com - I like this block explorer because data is presented in MVESTS rather than Hive Power. This is also probably the best explorer to find out basic economic blockchain data such as how many Hive per MVESTS, the Hive inflation rate and the size of the rewards pool. All listed to the right.

Two popular Hive Front Ends

Peakd.com - is the main interface I use to access the blockchain - it makes it very easy to search content by followers or within communities, and the integrated wallet function is also excellent, making transfers and powering up very easy. The 'tools' function is also a nice recent addition, which allows to see your data displayed in a number of nice Hive infographics.

Esteem is presently the only dedicated mobile application which works with the Hive blockchain. Very useful to have this on your mobile phone!

Security

Hive Keychain is a useful browser extension that enables you to store your posting and active keys (but not your main password) for multiple accounts, and sign into some of the Hive Dapps (such as Peakd.com) conveniently and securely.

Exploring and voting for the DAO and Witnesses

Hive.dao is the best place to go to explore projects which are applying for funding via the Decentralised Hive Fund - here you can see the proposals, whether they've been granted funding and check out whose actually voted for the proposals.

Hive Witnesses is a tool developed by the wonderful @arcange that allows you explore witness rankings and data in a distraction free way.

NB you can view DAO and witness data on all the main Hive front ends too, but the above two sites are dedicated and less distracting!

Other useful tools

Hive.vote allows you set up auto-votes for people you like and to follow curation trails.

Very useful list. I didn't know that Steemworld was ported over to Hive as BeeMe

@tipu curate

Yes, I'm sure how impressed Steem Chiller is about that!

Cheers for the tipu, here's hoping you get a nice 300% return on that vote!

Congratulations @revisesociology! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :

You received more than 90000 upvotes. Your next target is to reach 95000 upvotes.

You can view your badges on your board and compare to others on the Ranking

Vote for us as a witness to get one more badge and upvotes from us with more power!

Of course had he made it open source in the first place, 'copying' it wouldn't have been a problem!

I think your choice of words is insensitive.
He lost votes to get Dao funding and respect from most of the witnesses and upper-classes of the community when he said he wasn't ready to make his project open-sourced. I'm not sure if this should be used to justify or gloss over unauthorized copying of his work. It's still an awesome website, but it is what it is, an 'unendorsed' clone of Steemworld for Hive.

yes maybe a little insensitive, point taken!

Thanks for compiling this list. Very helpful, even to someone like me who been in the game for a long while.

Hey cheers, it is useful for me too! Just as a reminder!

Deserves to be bookmarked, good compilation.

Hey thanks!

You are welcome

Yup. This is basically all of them.

A great list, and it sums up every apps that I mostly use.

Nice summing dude! We need this one to be bigger and better to see what we can do with this all!
...under construction!....

Thanks for putting this together. I will check out the places I hadn’t heard of yet.

Great stuff! Thanks for putting it all together in one place.

Very valuable information, thanks for sharing!!
