The Hive is on!

Fellow Hivers!

Barely a week after we separated from Steem I'm both amazed and relieved to see how many of us decided to come over here, making the Hive their new home.

I feel that the Hive holds immense opportunity. There will be no lack of dispute too, but do not worry, we have DPoS to always find our way!

I'm eager to contribute and very grateful to all those who work hard on building this place. At the same time I'm still saddened and depressed by the fact that we lost Steem and with it a large number of Steemians.

Also, I would like to state that I would have wished that only the accounts holding the Steemit Inc stake had been excluded from getting their balances mirrored to the new chain. In my opinion, there was no pressing need to exclude further accounts from getting their balances ported. However, I acknowledge and welcome the fact that it was intended from the beginning to give our community the last word on this.

My hope now is that in the Hive the huge potential can unfold that was already planted into Steem, but had no chance to ever develop there. At least not at a speed that was even halfway bearable.

Now that we are free from the burden and threat of a single controlling stake we must learn to stand on our own legs. And every pair of legs will be needed.

The Hive lives from and through the community and grows by the contributions of each member. The value is us! There is no beekeeper who will take care of us if we run out of honey! Being forced to be self-sustaining gives us purpose but also imposes an enormous challenge that we as the Hive need to adapt to as fast as possible.

And let us not forget those who still contribute to this corporate blockchain called Steem. We won't be able to convince every single one of them but we have to do our best so that everyone at least is aware that a hexagon has been prepared for them in the Hive and is waiting for them to move in.

Hive on!

As someone who got votes from you very early on in my time on Steem which encouraged me to get more involved, I am glad to see you posting on HIVE and hope to see you carrying on with the great curation work.

Thank you Mark, I'm glad to read that my votes have played a part in keeping you involved with Steem since early on. Especially since you are committed to quality curation yourself for a long time now.

I can just repeat @markangeltrueman words -you did the same for me!

Glad to see you on Hive Shaka. Yes, some of the situations were like "If those didn't happen", the situation would have been different. But what's done is done and as you stated there are plenty of things that need to be done and we better get to it one by one. And honestly, HIVE (community) is going very smoothly so far.
No SunScreen here lol!!

To new beginnings, and a belated thank you also for the votes in the past. We move forward, and we try to build a community for everyone. The experiment continues, and grows, and has taken on a life of it's own.

Same feelings here my friend... Very excited about Hive so far but very mixed emotions about Steem, seeing how quickly this place that was our home for so long is turning into ruins :( But yeah, now we are here and it´s only us, the community, who will decide how successful Hive will be. There is nothing and nobody holding us back anymore but at the same time, there are no excuses this time. It´s a big challenge but I think we are all eager to take on it :)

there are no excuses this time

Exactly. And no one to blame if we don't progress.

I was amazed by how we all just moved house in a heartbeat on almost a moment's notice. But it's weird, now it feels even more like a big family.

A change is always good from time to time :D

Very good to see your post here.

Have a nice day!

It is beginning to feel like home here. Sadly we have to start all over again but lessons are learnt from Steem to make Hive stronger. Decentralization is what I stand for.
Thanks to all that made Hive possible and the community.

Hive is marching forward, destined to succeed. Hive is the future
