I have known Diego and Rodolfo (The guys running this event) since the beginning and they are very legal and compliant about their digital lives. It is somewhat safe to handle real money way down here in Argentina, It might be the same in El Salvador once they get their crime low - in a historical way I mean.
Today I am letting you all know about the event that is passing our way again. The Latin America Bitcoin Conference! That time of year has arrived again. This event gets bigger and better every year and I am sure this year will be no different. It starts tomorrow for those who attend the pre-party. General Admission starts on Friday and runs through Saturday.

The country is sunny, safe, and getting more stable as time goes by. This picture is from San Telmo, a tourist attraction for the old world and Tango fans.
The LA Bitconference is held adjacent to the Rio de la Plata river right near the airport here in the city. It is right around the corner from the Driving Range and Trixie's just in case you're from the 50's or 60's and want to be taken back to that era. I grew up in the 80's but this place is a blast from the past when times were simpler.
There are also plenty of parks within walking range. You can walk just a couple of blocks to the east and you are at the water's edge. Some people even camp in the parks!
I can't wait to see what the Hive Booth will be like this year. I still have stickers that I picked up there and I have been placing them at businesses that are on Hive and accept Hive / HBD for payment.

The lighting was not very conducive for picture taking last time I was there. There is something about red lighting that messes with the quality of your photos. I got a lot of footage at the last one and none of it was really very post-worthy.

The venue covers an area the size of two football fields if they were sitting right next to each other. Not so big that you can get lost, but by no means rinky-dink.
Grab Tickets On-line
It's simple and anonymous - just head over to LABitconf.com and click "Buy Tickets" for this Friday or Saturday (or both).
Select the kind of ticket you want and click "Buy Ticket", there will be a place to decide how many you want.
When you click Buy Ticket you will be asked to "Log in", but do not worry. The login page asks for an email only - there is no password to set or data to fill in. This just sends you a code to go on to the next screen.
Set the quantity you want and they may give you another code through email to proceed. The process is still anonymous.
They offer MercadoPago or Bitcoin for payment. I don't remember if there was a way to use flammable paper or BANK (Be An NPC Karen) cards. I paid with Bitcoin
I got General Admission because that is where the Hive Booth will be. I am a HODLer as far as Bitcoin goes. I got all I needed when mining was just a monthly electric bill.
There is another code through email - still no login to remember or data collected.
You will be asked for a name when you activate the ticket. If you are buying several, you can get your group together and fill all of those out right before leaving for the event.
I already activated mine and checked the appropriate boxes. I put Bob Sponge as my name.
It is important not to link your identity with your Bitcoin Address, just ask Roger Ver or Ross Ulbricht how all of that works when they take your 69,370 Bitcoin ($7.15 Billion) from you because of what a member or your platform does.
