Every activity has opportunity costs. Funds and resources spent on this film could have been spent more efficiently. Time works against us. Nowadays a 10 sec. Tiktok video can go viral and reach millions. Who in 2025 has the the willingness and the attention span to watch a 45min documentary on abstract topics?
Would you now again go for such a monumental approach or rather go for something cheaper, quicker, nimbler and smarter?
Do we actually want people with TikTok brains or ones that will watch a 45 min documentary?
True decentralisation, as embodied by the Hive Hardfork, is very difficult to achieve and few people really understand what it is.
Hive is the ONLY blockchain other than Bitcoin to achieve true decentralisation. Just look at how many blockchains went offline when AWS went down!
Thus the Hive HardFork is as important a historic event as the creation of Bitcoin and Satoshi's disappearance.
Decentralisation requires the Founder(s) to be killed off. This is very hard to do.
This documentary is the right sort of medium to promote a complicated concept like HIVE.
@lordbutterfly deserves much respect and congratulations for this.
That is the key question! Do we want to stay a niche elite platform or do we want to open up also for normal people? In fact most of the people have only Tiktok brains, it is a sad reality.
So Im sure you have an example of resources spent on this film that went on to be picked up by one of the biggest media network in the world, better spent somewhere else?
Where have they ever been spent better in terms of equal goals. 1 time in the history of Hive when it happened. Show me.
Well you know what should be done. Make one. Make it go viral. You can sell your method to the biggest companies in the world, im sure theyre looking for people able to do that.
Nobody will ever make documentaries again. They will just make tiktoks.
Of course you are right and we will soon have 10000s new Arabic users. How dared I to criticize you, the lord of the flies, sorry, butterflies.
Its not about criticism of me, its about the merit of the criticism.
One of the biggest media companies picks it up, so youre wrong.
You havent demonstrated anyone else being able to do that.
Do you not yourself see that your criticism is missplaced? Is this not a win for Hive? Shouldnt you be happy with a win for Hive?
What is it? Would you be happier if nothing happened? Because it does seem that way. You wanted news on the film, shouldnt getting news make you happy? At least that alone.
You seemed much happier criticizing your perceived lack of info then you are happy now receiving the info, and positive info at that.
You can try and spin this into me not liking criticism but I do feel everything I said here stands.
And I am trying to be very respectful here with everything I said.
I appreciate being respectful.
I think we just have different definitions of what is a success and what helps Hive.
Only time will tell if this film made an impact or not.
