The News

The general slump in crypto shows little sign of ending. I do not really follow the news, but I watch a few prices. $HIVE has hit some lows, but is not in freefall. I think it has actually gone up in the rankings, so others may be doing much worse. $LEO is not looking so good right now, but they are busy.

Prices from @coingecko

Talking of Leo, @khaleelkazi has written about their 'AI' bot that can give you notifications on Discord. I have seen that some people are leaving Discord over issues with them leaking data used for age verification. I know some channels require that now, but I am not prepared to give them anything important.

Friday Follows

  • @lordbutterfly has been putting together a Hive watch that you may be able to buy soon. It has some technology built in so you can verify it is authentic.
  • One of the features of the blockchain is that data there cannot be removed and someone is exploiting that to back up the @epsteinfiles. They are burning rewards.
  • @bozz had some opinions on how some people behave here. His issue was with someone delegating away all their HP so they could not do much with their own votes. There are lots of ways to judge people here. Some may do masses of low quality comments or sell all their rewards. We can each decide who deserves our votes. Perhaps we will get tools to help with that like the one that showed the KE values.
  • I am no expert on the crypto markets and I do not deal anyway, but I can enjoy some commentary from @the-bitcoin-dood.
  • @pechichemena has a cool jazz band who are posting some nice tunes.
  • We have lots of musicians on Hive and some are really prolific. One of those is @soundlegion who has posted a video about what she does.
  • A new tune from @ugochill and @theturtleproject is out.

The Dog House

I posted a while ago about scammers using direct messages on Hive to try to get people to expose their keys so that funds could be stolen. They tended to avoid posting or commenting as that could be downvoted. Recently they were using Ecency Waves to tag specific people, including me. Of course that has been downvoted.

People need to be aware that actual giveaways are rare even if you have been a loyal Hiver. If you hear about anything like this then actually check on who is doing it. If they have no posts or their reputation is low then be very wary. If they want you to enter your keys on some random site then run away! They should not be able to access your keys if you do not hand them over. You should be using @keychain that does not expose them.

Your security is your responsibility. Always be cautious and suspicious of anything that seems too good to be true. That is a general principle in life and especially online.

Stay safe.

The End

When the markets are down like this you need to think about the reasons you are on Hive. It that is purely for profit then you may be disappointed, but it can offer much more. We need alternatives to the corporate platforms and should encourage others to be here to make it a more fun place. Hive is about people and not just rewards. You do not have to get on with all of them, but you may find your crowd. I have found so many interesting and thoughtful folk here. I stay away from those who give me negative vibes.

Enjoy life and Hive five!

It's sad the number of bad actors that have popped up. Usually we only see stuff like that when the price is doing better, but it seems they are trying to gain any advantage possible right now.

It is a tough time for us in the crypto world, but I hope that $HIVE is will manage its position and go some more up.

We need more than hope. We need action, by all of us.

Curated by les90

Lovely update for the week been following @bozz for a while and I'm enjoying all his content especially his sports stuff.

As for the Hive price i have not paid too much attention to it, i am enjoying growing my account and just creating and curating when i can.

Been a while since i checked out Leo i remember staking a small 200 when their front end launched but other than that i have not really checked anthing from them of their frontend.

great post as always, have a good weekend.

I agree with you about "shows little sign of ending". The prices of hive seems to have found a new price of support in the $0,07 no strengh to go up, but also not going bellow it.

It feels like the market is waiting for something to happen to decide what to do. It's a good time to make some small purchases of impact. I've bought for example some hive to get into the 10k, if the prices were higher I would needed to pay much more for the same amount.

It's great time to review some positions! 🙂
