RE: Wallet Inspector!!!

Well we suck at picking good projects to support. Surprised? I think the Ghana wells has been a success in some ways, but perhaps not at building the Hive community. The documentary about it is good, but I don't know how widely it has been seen. The rally car got the name out there, but did it help? The effects of marketing can be hard to measure, but we know what the trends are for Hive.

Just giving people free money without conditions is not a great way forward. Compared to a lot of marketing the sums are pretty small, but we don't have that much to play with so need to use it well.

I am not a marketing guy, but I think we should work with some of the people already on Hive who have an audience elsewhere. There are musicians who do pretty well, but may not be talking about Hive. I know some do. I think we need to build our profile in specific niches where we have a chance. We should sell Hive as an alternative to other platforms.

Crypto is not the Shiny New Thing now, but people get frustrated with corporate social media and we should exploit that.

True Steve. It think with marketing you need to be clever and with a blockchain like ours you need to pick a niche or demographic . Seeing a car spin around a bend is not gonna bring people in . Thats for brands that are already established like crypto.com, Binance etc . For us we need market in certain areas like getting up and coming authors in. People who like video games or the whole Dungeons and Dragons strategy games . Target specific areas . We can go on till the cows come home but the simple message i am getting across is the people we give money to have not any skin in the game. I don’t mind the 3 proposals running at the moment because they all have decent stake. The keychain lads aren’t going anywhere soon and same can be said for ecency. Peakd repo is private so can’t really tell as can’t see the commits . Maybe worth a post

If you look at FB or reddit communities you can see that some of these niche interests are pretty huge with groups much bigger than Hive is now. I think that this blockchain thing was meant as a reddit alternative, given the original name. I know someone worked on trying to persuade another crypto community to come over here, but I don't think it got far. Other cryptos tend not to have a dedicated social platform, but we could make them welcome here.

The mean projects seem pretty active so they could be earning their crust. I really don't know what goes around Leo these days.

Yeah I am not sure myself. Everytime I am having a look they are launching a new crypto token after another failed one. I agree with you about the music by the way of launching new artists and them making money for themselves but I think some people are still sore about the Vibes project. Don't make it a contest but have a large staked pool with musicians like yourself that can vote for good performances. I am seeing some guys are making it on TikTok by doing a cool cover. Kind of like "Like a Version" in Australia. We could do this on Hive.

Music contests can be fun, but we have people putting out records and doing shows who could spread the good word of Hive to their fans who could join up to support them.
