Our goals and ambitions for April now that we are returning to Lockdown

in #hive3 years ago

Hey Hivers!

Just spent the entire afternoon in the home studio working on some new songs and wanted to take a few moments to share a few thoughts. Here in Berlin, we are moving backwards into a period of "lockdown" as the vaccine rollout continues to stall and the rate of infection is seemingly increasing. While we've had enough of this pandemic after one year of near complete disruption to our lives and career, there is still a sense of communal responsibility we feel that keep us abiding by the "rules". The past month we've been spending each weekend playing in the parks and asking people to be respectful and try to maintain social distancing. We've written extensively about how that has been a true blessing for our spirits, to play in front of a public and enjoy moments of connection even in the midst of so many restrictions.

But as we are seemingly taking a big step backward, we are worried that we will need to stay out of the parks the next few weeks as the authorities are threatening to control gatherings in open public spaces. Rather than allow this to break our spirits, we have set a new set of material goals for the next month that will help get our musical lives back on track and put us in a stronger position once we are able to start traveling again. Over the next weeks we will spend long periods of time together in the studios in what we are hoping is going to be a wild infusion of creativity. Our plan is to write a sequel concept album (to release after the release of the one we wrote last year), and to prepare new singles and improvisations that we can film in extraordinary places around Europe once we are able to move around a bit in the summer. Years ago we were able to get millions of viewers on some of our videos, and our goal is to strengthen our content and come up with a better strategy to cut through the noise that has overloaded the internet ever since the start of the pandemic.

This community and what it represents continues to play an important role in our future, and we want to build an even stronger connection with the community here. The dream is to integrate the large fanbase that we have on other platforms and have them migrate over here to Hive and finally become "owners". We are still searching for the best way to do that with some of our new content. We will be updating our website the next month and will likely be integrating https://exxp.io/ into the site to be able to have our blog and musings more seamless between Web2.0 and Web3.0 fans.

We're happy to see that this community keeps growing! And we are hoping to start being an agent for growth for the community throughout the year. This has long been an ambition of @bennetcerven and 2021 feels like the year to make that a reality.

I hope things improve for you. We seem to be going the other way in England with good vaccination rates and things opening up again. I just hope we don't get more set-backs. This has gone on for a long time. I know my musician friends are desperate to play together again and perform for others. Playing to people over Zoom is not the same.
