Two days ago, I'd a quick interview with the EXODE's creator @elindos through discord, here's the questions and answers of the interview:
ME: Hi bro, just a quick question...
What's the percentage of similarity of EXODE compare with EVE online?
@elindos : now that's a somewhat "big" question.
EVE Online and EXODE share the way they approach background depth, intensity, atmosphere.
(and the same taste for great music; EVE Online has one of the best SF games soundtracks in the world)
EXODE is also a massively multiplayer games, with strategic, economic, and roleplaying elements, and EVE Online has some of that.
But maybe the similarities would stop here, at least for early 2020.
At its start, EXODE will be much behind EVE Online graphic-wise as we'll focus on cyberpunk-styled UIs, text, etc.
progressively, EXODE will share more thanks to improved space travel, more and better graphical engine.
While discussing 3D, we had talks in the past with people featuring a space engine trampling everything that existed in space travel-to-planet and planetary ground procedural generation. I had their prototype in my hands and we were discussing how to make everything work.
To answer it in shorter words:
EXODE has some things in common, will be too young to be comparable early on, but aims at the same quality of atmosphere that we can find in EVE, and a different gameplay.
ME: Well, the reason I ask - many people will somehow compare EXODE with EVE in near future...
That's better to let them know the concepts and fundamentals of EXODE from the beginning
@elindos : You were right to ask this question then!
EVE Online was not something I put so far in EXODE's pitch.
Because it would have sounded odd for an indie team to say: "you liked EVE Online? so you will love EXODE!" ... and try to recruit players from that angle.
However, we do share much in "core values" with EVE Online.
And some approaches too, but also blockchain is a real boost to EXODE.
ME: Another quick question - are you going to add, maybe paypal or credit card payments into EXODE?
The angle in that, is also to expand to people out of HIVE, and bring them to it.@elindos : yes, presale will accept credit cards.
ME: EXODE would be the BRIDGE for those who are eagerly want to learn about crypto.
EXODE's intense story will move some hearts and make them look more closely into what is happening here in HIVE and the game, I hope.@elindos : We'll also lead advertisements which obviously will target people out of HIVE currently.
ME: Glad to know your marketing strategy :)
Yup, the storyline makes the game becomes entertaining.
To me, EXODE's success will show how much crypto (and HIVE) is able to launch full-games!
I think if EXODE is successful, more indies will look at it :)
(some dreams being expressed freely: there is a novel, and the theme could work even in a tv series project :smile: )

I see the interview has been 100 % kept as is. I love the transparency!
Atmosphere-wise, EVE Online has been a top game and model to me.
And a major space trip.
About credit cards please note that right during presale we'll reach out already to people outside crypto (some were following EXODE already). Creating a HIVE account will be made as automatic as possible.
