Hive Analytics - First Day

If you haven't seen the announcement yesterday, check it out!

Since the announcement, there have been some small changes.

Improved Dark Mode

The styling has been improved, specifically for dark mode. Here you can see the new style, which to most I hope is an improvement.

Report fixes

A few reports needed an update. Specifically date sorting and made some tweaks to improve performance of some reports. Most reports are served from cache, so only the unlucky one not being cached every so many hours would notice.

I also wanted to share some stats on usage.

There have been 77 unique users and almost 800 report executions, all with 100% success rate. You will also notice I am tracking the cache hit rate which is just over 60%. Some reports purposely are not cached so this will never hit 100%. For example the Hive Engine order book shouldn't be cached as we want the latest data available. Some reports are specific to individual users and will rarely be cached as they won't be running it many times a day.

It is no surprise the Whales report is the most popular.

If you are curious about who uses it the most, you can see that broken down here as well.

Don't forget to leave feedback on what you like, don't like, and what you would like to see. You can comment here or use the feedback form on the website.

Excellent UI and well done . This was badly needed. Question about the bot spammers page. Is there a list of bots? Also the high frequency posters . That iso my revealing 1. Should the threshold be lowered here to say 5 times a day?

The report basically is "who am I the parent author to the most". The idea is to find people summoning bots.

I don't maintain a list of them (although I thought about it in future updates), but I have used this a lot on my own to find people spamming things like !lol and so on. It is just something I use to find patterns.

The Anti-Abuse category is just a sample, there are a ton of tools I don't make publicly available and Anti-Abuse will be locked down to a very small group of people if this goes further.

Should the threshold be lowered here to say 5 times a day?

This will going to be configurable, but this is the default I use in my backend system so I just copied it here for now. Again, these Anti-Abuse tools won't be general use and are just an example.

Curious what is considered post spamming? More than two in 24 hours? Or is the threshold higher than that?

Many people do 2 posts a day. I would say 3 or more for me but there will be many opinions on this I would imagine.

There are no rules or even guidelines here just a bunch of people making their own decisions.

Why would They be taken from general use? Just asking as there is more than likely a obvious answer? It was one of the first places I went.

It would move the goal post for identifying abuse. If they know the tools, techniques, thresholds used to detect they can slightly change to side step it making a nearly impossible job even harder.

ok thanks for the info. It's good to know there are controls in place. I was once given a stat in retail that the average shoplifter will steal an average of $60 from you but if the average dishonest member of staff on the inside came to an average of $60,000. Looking at the Valueplan totals we are indeed being robbed from the inside.

Yesterday I had a chance to check out several reports, I like this tool so far. The author rewards is probably my favorite so far.

I got busted at #4 of your top report users :)
I really liked what I saw, definitely the best all in one place of Hive analytics. The Hive Engine SPS report is interesting but not of much use as most SPS is staked... So the real SPS rich list looks quite different...

This was an interesting convergence for microblogging content.

I've been "snape posting" on the new Hive Snaps app "Snappie" by @meno and we have a torrent of "Wordle" reports there.

The quantity of short form content on Inleo fell off a cliff in the middle of August.

Check out the unique user version

I remember seeing last week task going bazooka on spam... so, any stats on leo, to me are bs.

I love this report

is there someone who can explain, and I do mean this sincerely, the idea here? What is this? Why add all this bloat? Who is it benefiting?

I'm not questioning his "right" to do so. I know he can do as he pleases. I want to know What the plan is?

Like... let's say Joe Mcdingleberry buys 300k in HP and wants to post pictures of him eating sand off the beach. Can he do this? Of course, he's in his right to do so. But, I doubt its helping him in any way. I doubt the sand eating is helping his gut, and its certainly not helping his investment to document it.

I know he used to run an account @leoglossary that appeared to be for the sole purpose of improving SEO of InLeo. As a layman, that would make sense, but it actually did more harm to InLeo than good as it is easily picked up by Google as keyword stuffing and ultimately penalized their SEO. That being said, it stopped when I nuked rewards.

This is just selfish self serving behavior without any care of the impact on the ecosystem and is why he is blacklisted. I should have done it a long time ago but many of the powers that be love him.

I've not talked to him personally, but I was once on Discord when he was being interviewed. He seemed reasonable to me, smart even. So, attempting to be generous, I'll say there's some piece of information I don't have.

That said, I think it's 100% undeniable the fact that he's hurting the chain with this spam. It almost seems vindictive. So, even if some influential people like him, I don't blame you for blacklisting him. If he began spamming Snaps like that, I would probably blacklist him too.

There is an interesting inflection point around July when the "365 Day" view is selected.

Shortly after that point unique users are more normally distributed across InLeo, PeakD, and Ecency - for short form content production.

I find another error, dunno if it is a bug or not. In Hive Engine Richlist, in some token (PIMP), my name is gone. Maybe the data is not well collected.

You are below the threshold. Since it is only pulling top 500 (by balance not stake) your 28 pimp is below the 500th 79 pimp.

Ultimately I was planning on having a toggle by stake and by balance.
The problem is querying tokens with large distributions on Hive Engine is very problematic. Certain tokens like SPS, LEO, DEC can't even be grabbed completely as you hit a threshold where it won't allow you to get more. There are ways around this but not simple.

In short, if I pulled by stake and showed the top 500 staked, you would have shown up.

I'll let you known when this is improved.

Nice, I got into the top 10 :-D It was mainly using the "Spambot" function to see how I comment most on, and then who of those comments most on who, and so on. It's great way to find new content creators that I wasn't aware of, though probably not intended for that...

Regarding "Top Author Actions" - is there a way to exclude bots? None of those displayed seem to be real authors, but all bots. Would be cool if I could click on the author to exclude them, just like in the comparison of micro-blogging content, where I can click on "LeoThreads" to exclude them.

egarding "Top Author Actions" - is there a way to exclude bots? None of those displayed seem to be real authors, but all bots.

That’s that point of it.

Okay, if it's to observe bot activity, wouldn't it make more sense to put it into the Anti-Abuse section?

It’s mostly to see the top actions. The plan is to have many other ways to look at it as well. This is merely a demo and proof of concept.

Okay, thanks for the explanation! I think I did not fully understand the concept or the goal yet, so I will stay in observe mode until I do :-D Have a good night!

Please explain to everyone why you keep downvoting my original content and sending some weirdos to talk shit to me like that is going to do anything 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣

#feedback ... I absolutely love this.

Just wanted to note that when I pulled the Creative Coin richlist just now, two of my accounts were not listed, though I have substantial stake on both. So I'm not sure how accurate this is.

It prioritizes balance, not stake. So it will show the top 500 balance, if you then sort by stake it may or may not include the top 500 stake. The stake was added after just to show it, but it needs a re-write to be able to get the entire token list from HE so it can accurate sort all columns.

Got it. It is not showing top 500 stake, so those accounts wouldn't make the cut.

I like it... huge amount of good stuff...

Suggestion... for these big calls, maybe have the ability to zoom into it...

Although I have downloaded the picture and its still quite ok...

Don't forget to leave feedback on what you like, don't like, and what you would like to see.

And yet, you have only Keychain as the only method of authentication to log in and test fully the tools!!

only auth that matters

Well, then let's hope the chaps who actually control the DHF funds and have the "singing voice" in the approval of Hive's project proposals think the same as you.

I have no expectation it will pass.

Don't be so pessimistic. You'll never know if you don't try.
