Gangaur, Local festival of Jaipur | India

in #hiveblog4 years ago

Hello Steemit pals,

Its been a very hard time for all of us in this COVID ERA,

all of us are stuck in some time zone where we have a thought, of a time machine, to speed up everything and try to get back things back to normal.

a thought came into my mind to share some of the Indian festival images that might help us to build a tolerance to fight against COVID 19.

here are the pictures from Gangaur festival that I attended year back in Jaipur...

Hope you guys will enjoy a series of pictures......

Background of the festival:

It’s a festival of marital bliss or saubhagya. It is believed that on this day Lord Shiva blessed Goddess Parvati his wife with saubhagya and Goddess Parvati blessed women with marital bliss. It has been celebrated in the whole of Rajasthan from prehistoric times and religious processions are carried out on the eve of Gangaur in major cities like Jaipur and Udaipur.
