Then, I was in a room with only 5 people, the others never spawned for me.
I tried for one hour and then gave up.
The idea is great, the software is terribly buggy.

I had the same. But my issue was mainly my internet connection. This year it's hoping for a better connection, from Mexico this time :) So I'm hoping for a IRL HiveFest in Mexico in 2022...hint hint.
