RE: HiveForum KL Roundtable (Sun 19 OCT 2025): Improving DAO Spending, Accountability & ValuePlan Transparency

in #hiveforum23 days ago

The above fails to take one key fact into consideration: VP is not a budget where people present projects and get bulk sums of money. That's the DHF itself. VP is a budget where Hive community members are asked to join a promotional activity. The element to deliberate is what promotional activities we will undertake in 2026.

I'm against the idea that others have to put in work in order to present quick executive summaries for whomever to vote on. Everyone here is a stakeholder and thus owner of Hive and everyone is responsible for the work of promoting Hive. Neither myself nor any project manager is going to sit there constantly reporting to some small group who are supposedly more righteous than the rest. This isn't Steemit.

A portion of the people replying and being mentioned here put in the hours already and never asked for anything. And a portion of the people replying and being mentioned here asked to be paid. Hive promotion and organization is not a paid job. What it is is a lot of work. Everyone who wants to participate in Hive promotions and in Value Plan in general has always been welcome to. You want to work for the betterment of all of Hive, which you co-own? Come work.

I think the general consensus is that new leadership over VP is what is wanted by the community.
And that this new leadership should be elected.
I don’t think you are an ill intentioned person. I thank you for your service. I don’t doubt the under appreciated labor you have put in. It just current circumstances ask for a shift in leadership.
In your comment here you present as an authority as to what VP is or isn’t.
But how did you become the principal decision maker and for how long is your reign meant to last?
My point is not to make this personal. But who are you accountable too?
There are other key holders, but you come across as the principal decision maker.
Sometimes circumstances need a fall guy…. You chose the name guiltyparties…
It’s simply time for change and more transparency.
If value plan is going to continue,
A top down rotation is in order.
🤷‍♂️
But I’m just a Butt… what do I know

I hear you buddy but its not that easy. There are several years worth of activities, partners, processes, etc for anyone who replaces me to catch up on. The handover isn't a one day type of thing. Everyone is welcome to step up but they should do this with the understanding that they need to be online every day, know how to manage projects, treat all people equally, work with a lot of different people irrespective of how much they like them or not, negotiate with various conferences, and constantly reject a lot of very highly respected people asking for salaries.

I'm accountable to all of Hive. Not to a few people, not to a couple of stakeholders, to everyone irrespective of where they're from and who they are and what they think. I don't take orders from any single person on this chain.

Don't know if you noticed but this post doesn't have much engagement. Its the same people talking over and over. Real question here is why aren't people responding.

You are trying to build a narrative based on a fallacy. The reason many people aren't responding is that a significant number have left the Hive Blockchain due to Valueplan's poor decisions. Don't try to play the victim, overwhelmed by all the work that needs to be done, when you have repeatedly witnessed corruption.

You are incapable of admitting you've made bad decisions, and that's why so many people resent you to the point of not wanting to waste their time responding. With your poor choices, you have undermined the investment of many who believe in Hive, but your way of recklessly burning money has made everyone see Valueplan as a scam for the entire ecosystem, despite its enormous potential.

You won't change your mind and will likely sidestep this comment with an ambiguous and obscure response, as you always do. Your actions are irresponsible and corrupt.

When were you voted into this position?
Did anyone on Hive vote for you to be in this position?
How exactly are you accountable? You take orders from no single person yet are completely accountable to all of hive. Hmmm🧐
if we are talking about accounting...biggest % of budget has been donating to Venezuela and a mans dream to race a car. You have obviously done more than that...and i certainly wont say its all been a waste... but the amount of squandered cash on those things is pretty shocking.
i am not a person who likes to complain. I am a solution based person, i seek thrive in this life. For whatever reason i care about Hive, and im sorry, but the best solution for hive currently is you gone from VP lead. A person who thinks they are indispensable as you insinuate above...is the exact person who needs to be dispensed of.
A committee of elected people handling the role you play or have somehow assigned yourself…, they will be able to handle managing projects, conferences and being on line just fine.

You completely misread the entire post and my response.

I dont think i misread anything at all. The original post was a small breath of fresh air that is really a few years late in arriving to my eyes. The community has been calling for more austerity, transparency and KPI’s for a long time, from both VP and DHF.
I think your response is simply an avoidance of my key points/questions. Who elected you as lead of VP?? How long does your reign last? Who are you actually accountable too? What i see is a dissatisfied unheard community, and you feel disgruntled and unbudging.

I want to emphasize again that i do not deny the work you have given to this position. I’m sure it feels under appreciated.
That being said. My 2 cents is that if you truly cared about the future hive, you would step down willingly and aid a transition to an elected committee.

Change is needed yesterday.

Perhaps because no one listens or values anyone's voice unless it's a 'name'?

Ain't that the truth.
