this post is a response to the What Does Hive Mean To Me? Initiative by @theycallmedan.
Q: What "is HIVE/does HIVE mean" to you?
Freedom. Liberation. Decentralization.
For far too long, the Steem blockchain has been living under the ignorant leadership of Steemit Inc or rather Ned Scott, a company/ceo that initially created the blockchain and in the end, sold it out.
Everything the community has built on Steem (which is a lot) was simply used to mark up the price of a deal. It's truly a sad fairy tale of an incompetent leader, taking the work that thousands of people contributed and putting his own name on it.

So for me, Hive is what Steem was always supposed to be
It's on us, to make Hive a success. And when it does, there isn't a Ned Scott to fuck it up or to take the credit from us.
Hive is decentralization. Hive is liberty. Hive is freedom. Hive is ours.
Q: What do you want to see HIVE evolve into?
I want to see Hive evolve into a self-sustaining ecosystem.
Hive should be the acronym of a community-fork gone right. A fork that exceeds the main-chain and displays that true decentralization is alive and well.
Right now, when you fill out applications to list Hive on exchanges/projects, there is simply no way to fill out the "founder/s" question. And that's perfect!
Hive wasn't created by an entity, it was born into existence by the community.
I want to see Hive getting the recognition it deserves, for being a powerful & scalable blockchain, while having an even stronger community & ecosystem behind it.
Q: What do you think about having a large funded DAO for future HIVE development?
Good question. On the one hand, I'm a big proponent of the DAO/DAF, as it's a great tool to incentivize development/contributions to Hive.
However, there is a discussion to be had whether we want to have an intrinsiquely-based development/contributions by stakeholders; similar to how Bitcoin is developed; and/or increase incentives via the DAF.
The DAF, as it's right now, is huge. Besides the 450k HBD (that is on-top being filled daily with new HBD from the pool) we also have over 83~ Million HIVE from the airdrop blacklist.
Burning it, would remove roughly 25% of the supply. The biggest reason why people didn't contribute as much on Steem, was simply based on the fact that the biggest gainers from improvements were Steemit Inc. So other stakeholders/individuals expected them to do most of the work.
However, with Hive, we're all equal now in that sense.
So personally, I think we should strive for a middle-ground.

Dear @therealwolf, Freedom, decentralization and liberty is all good. BUT on the movement from Steemit to Hive, some NORMAL USERS didnt got they airdrop till today. EVEN, there is no public announcement ( if yes, please show me), where to get the Airdrop.
IF YOU ALL WITNESS DONT GIVE THE SMALL USERS LIKE US THE AIRDROP IN THE PAST---THAN YOU AS WELL SHOULD NOT SUPPORT PEOPLE WHO ARE POSTING STILL ON STEEMIT, BUT THEY ARE FAN OF HIVE..... IF YOU DO IT, YOU SHOULD DO IT RIGHT AND CORRECT!
I believe it only affected accounts with more than 1000 SP that chose to do something very specific and deliberate.
Please have patience, if you expect the airdrop now while tempers are still hot, no one is going to agree (especially if you are sending all-caps messages).
We have much more urgent and important things to do. We are where we are (it's a better place) because we ignored you.
I suggest the people who want the airdrop to stop complaining and start supporting Hive. Show your support by engaging positively and constructively with the rest of the community, produce decent quality content, stop looking for handouts. Try to offer something instead.
Ask not what Hive can do for you, but what you can do for hive!
Normally a platform is a place to support yourself isn't it? Everything is cool as long as nobody make a copy from another account and don't give this copied account the same what the others get or? Than it would be smarter to create a new platform with no accounts so everyone has to register new and beginn with 0. You know what I am talking about or you close your eyes honey?
I wouldn't have responded if I didn't want dialogue, I think everyone excluded from the airdrop should have a chance to get the airdrop.
People who didn't get it will have a chance. In the meantime, it looks like your account still exists, so do some good stuff and maybe you will gain more allies who also think you deserve Hive.
If I get a chance to vote for who gets their airdrop, I'm going to ask 1 question: What will you do on this platform if you get your airdrop, compared to if you don't get your airdrop?
I will support my vegan community. Like I did in the past. If hive is a vegan platform I am able to do this. If this is an answer of your question? I am a vegan traveler so this is and was still my focus. Hugs

I would like to think Hive supports vegans. I'm not personally a vegan, but I admire most people who stand by their convictions. I definitely like Lotus' and live near quite a few lovely lotus ponds.

Do you know, since 3 years i am on Steemit and post mostly daily my travel postings with videos and photos. Thats my way, how i support the plattform.. even on HIVE
I am still waiting of his feedback.. No answer... No airdrop...
All non-ninja mined streem should have been airdropped in my opinion.
I'm not in control when or if Airdrops are happening. There are discussions about this right now and the best thing you can do is to have patience.
Ok, Danke für deine Antwort. Noch eine Frage: Denkst du nicht auch nach so vielen Tagen HIVE Start, sollte zumindest ein öffentliches Statement dazu gemacht werden? Die USER im dunklen zu lassen, ohne dass irgendeine handfeste Information raus kommt ist schon ein starkes Stück.... es sind einige, die nicht den Airdrop bekommen haben. Zudem die Coins von uns Blacklist User nicht einfach weg gelassen wurden, sondern diese auf ein Gemeinsames Konto des Main Witness transferiert wurde!! (sofern diese Info wo ich habe so stimmt). Dann warte ich nun und schaue was die Zukunft bringt....

Okay, thanks for your answer. One more question: Don't you think after so many days of HIVE start, shouldn't there at least be a public statement about it? To keep the USER in the dark without any tangible information coming out is a strong piece of work... there are some who did not get the Airdrop Also, the coins from us blacklist users were not simply left out, but were transferred to a shared account of the Main Witness! (if this info is correct where I have it). Then I wait now and see what the future brings...
There is no real "official". We're all community members working together. As soon as the updated list is ready and maybe also a new version ready by community devs, there will probably be one or more posts.
That statement is incorrect.
They were transferred to the @steem.dao account (httsp//hiveblocks.com/@steem.dao), which no-one has access to. It's the account of the DAF: https://peakd.com/me/proposals

If you tell me about the steem-engine? These are the tribes(token) created by steemians. SO will it transfer to Hive. Hope you catch what I am trying to ask :D
Like, on STEEMPEAK posts, it shows me the other tokens earning (neoxage, palnet etc)
and I didn't see these tokens earning on my PEAKD posts...
