RE: Sharing links and embedded videos is not the same as spam or plagiarism

Well I never said I was perfect :) The analogy fails in that you only need one truck driver to deliver one load, but any number of people could share some content and many people could see if without their help anyway (subscribers, followers).

But we get to choose who we pay (manufacturer and/or truck driver) for our content.

I'm just chewing over the ideas. It will get really interesting if Hive could reach critical mass and a lot of the content appears here first. Curation by sharing will remain a role, but debates over who gets paid could get heated. For now most content creators won't even know Hive exists.

Without assistance from others - nobody gets beyond their own personal connections. Subscribers, followers only happen because other people are liking, sharing their content first. Or the platform helps to boost your content. No man is an island - in the physical "real world" economy and in the online attention economy.

For now most content creators won't even know Hive exists.

This may in part because our economics are tailored for large stakeholders and content creators only. Our economics suck royally for the average user just joining.

We need to find a reasonable balance of creators and influencers.

If we do get some good content creators joining up then they need to be encouraged. Otherwise it will still have the appearance of a 'circle jerk' (horrible term). I just wonder where the next wave will come from. Steem has some brand recognition, but we have to start over with Hive.

Hive needs to be clearly a better option than Steem. That's obvious to us, but not to always someone coming from the outside.
