Transportation is of immense importance in everyone's life who has something to do outside one's residence. The accessibility and availability of a convenient transport makes many errands and tasks easier and faster. When I was in the University, my institute was far away from my home. I had to go by the University bus (called as POINT) which came to the stop at the fix time. Delay of a few seconds would result in the departure of the point, and I had to take the public bus. It was quite hectic. To reach my university I had to shift two busses. Moreover, the fare were higher (6 times of the point) and it took more than double the time to reach at the destination. Owing to all these reasons I always tried to catch the point on time, which was early in the morning. Sometimes, my classes were quite later than the time I reached at the institute, but I reached early because the point had its fixed time. Same was the case with the off-time. My classes ended two hours earlier than the time of point's departure in the afternoon. I had to wait quite long. If I chose to go by public bus, it had its own consequences.
At the same time when I was in the university, my elder brother was also a student in another institute which was only a few minutes away from mine. He drove bike, that's why he didn't have to be hurry to catch any bus. When his classes were late, he went late. He also returned back home as soon as his classes were over. He need not to waste his time waiting for buses on the stop, nor he had to travel standing in a crowded bus. How much ease he had just because he could drive a bike. Not only him, but I looked at my class fellows who didn't have to walk on foot covering the long paths between the departments and libraries. Instead, they just sat on the bike and gave a kick. Within a minute or two, they were at their destinations. Looking at the ease created by the motor bikes in the lives of boys, I cannot count how many times I wished to be able to drive a motor bike.
The problem is that my culture doesn't support women driving a bike, and so my wish always remained a wish. However, I have no doubts in saying that my favorite mode of transportation is motor bike.
There are many reasons that makes the motor bike a preferable vehicle
It is cost-effective
For travelling the same distance, the fuel utilized in motor bikes is much lesser than any other vehicle. Even the fares of public buses cost more than the bike's fuel.
Moreover, the tuning and service of a bike doesn't take as much as the four-wheeled drives would cost. This all makes the bike affordable for everyone.
It is easy to handle.
For handling a bike, there is no need to keep looking around all the time. For instance, in order to take a car out of the parking one needs to be very careful about all the four sides. A little carelessness would result in the damage. A bike doesn't need this much attentiveness. Moreover, because of being opened the surroundings are quite visible.
Furthermore, there is no need for a big space for its parking. You can park it easily at a small free space available.
Even further, in case of an unexpected situation such as a puncture or unavailability of fuel, a single person can easily take it alone to the near by puncture shop/petrol pump. Can you image pushing a car alone in such a situation????
Besides, if there is the traffic jam on a certain road, one can lift the bike across the zebra crossing to reach the other side of the road.
I am sure there would be a lot more points for easy handling of a bike, that the bike drivers would tell. I have only explained the ones I have witnessed 😇.
It can run on narrow paths.
Bikes reaches to the places where no other vehicle can. It can enter the narrow streets and alleyways quite easily. If your destination is at such a narrow place, no vehicle other than bike would take you to the closest point.
It saves time
A bike takes much lesser time in parking/ remove from parking. It is one way it saves time. There are many ways it saves time on the road. For instance, during traffic jams you can make your way out when on a bike, while on a bigger vehicle there are no such expectations. Moreover, it is much easier to change your route (whenever needed) than on the bigger vehicles.
All these positive features attached to the motor bike makes it my most favorite vehicle for transportation. What about yours………..?

Wow... this is new. Did not know there was a law against women riding bikes. Here in my country, bikes are used mainly for commercial purposes than a personal means of transportation. And they use it to carry passengers, regardless of the gender.

Noooooi! There isn't any law against women driving bikes. It is simply against the norms. The way the women sit behind the man on the bike is different here. Women sit keeping both the legs on the same side as we normally sit on a chair.
Okay... I understand better now. There are still some women that seat on bikes that way, in my country. Even today.

Awwww. We do have women who ride motor bikes here and it is very welcomed. Accepted even. You are right, maintaining a motor bike is way more easier than a car. And I do experience discomfort with buses and public transportation.

Some women in my culture have also come out to break the norms, however it hasn't become normal yet. It would take time to be accepted.

Oh I really want to say T am fine but I am really not. Insomnia came on stronger than before and I write my exams with a pounding headache that does not go away till I sleep it off and the sleeping is verrrrrrrrry hard!

Air would be my favorite one when it is about travelling outside the city, but within the city bike is what I prefer.

Bike!!! I'll never be caught with this means of transportation. While it has that many advantages you listed, it also has a lot of advantages in a real world, keeping the assumptions of minimal accidents but then I'm sure with every precautions taken, it may just be a very good mode of transportation.
Why aren't women allowed to ride bikes? That's sad.
The norms of the society are not in favor of women's bike driving. There is an assumption that it would be against religious teaching, while my knowledge about the religion says a no to this assumption. It is hard to go against the norms anyways.
Another reason is that bike driving is considered manly thing, so it goes against the norms of gender roles
Another reason is to ensure the women's security. Women going out alone to farther place are thought to be harassed easily.
